  1. Damn it Carolina, Dwayne Jarrett better be one hell of a receiver, because I don't agree with this move at all as it stands right now. 70 catches last year, Keyshawn was doing quite well for us.
  2. The worst part about this season so far is that Hendry may well decide we need to overpay for clutchtastic talent in the offseason
  3. Per UND.com, the Bears signed Darius Walker and Chris Frome. I had an inkling Chicago might be interested in Walker. Good luck to him.
  4. I was hoping Shark would K more people, but the name of the game is keeping runs off the board, and he's been good in that department so far.
  5. We love having you. We're just never gonna show it. :)
  6. Maybe the NFL knows what we've been saying all along....ND is overrated! ND kinda got slapped in the face a little the last two days. Both Darius Walker (Never thought he'd be a pro player, anyway) and Rhema Mcknight didn't get drafted. Abiamiri will be a good player, however, and Harris went to the right team with the Broncos. Interstingly, my draft mag had Brady Quinn completely rated exactly as he was in this draft, going to the Kansas City Chiefs at 23, so I don't expect the people "on the inside" where that surprised he dropped so far. Sean Salisbury can slobber over himself all he wants, but it seems like Quinn was just not that highly sought after. I guess not. I look forward to him proving those teams wrong.
  7. Huh, I missed it but Chinedum Ndukwe got picked by Cincy with one of the last picks. Pleasant surprise - I think Nedu has enough talent to surprise some people and get some PT. Would never have guessed that 7 Irish would be picked and no Walker or McKnight.
  8. Ryan put the Cardinals in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg
  9. Looks like he made a bad career move. That and he's not an NFL-caliber back. I guess not, though I really thought the first half of the Sugar Bowl would've changed some minds there.
  10. I feel really bad for Darius. He left ND early because this year was as weak as the RB class was going to be and he had no chance of moving his stock up any more. Little did he know he would go undrafted anyway.
  11. Dan Santucci just got picked by Cincy, making it 6 Irish picked. I honestly can't believe any of the last three got taken before Walker or McKnight.
  12. Yeah, he's not bad. But if Walker goes completely undrafted I will be displeased. He's not fast but he's a good blocker and a tremendous pass catcher. Panthers take C.J. Wilson from Baylor for their last pick. If we'd only grabbed Olsen this would be a damn near perfect draft.
  13. Hester Syndrome. I'll be surprised if Ginn becomes a good receiver. You can't really play the "I'm just going to outrun the other team's slow cornerbacks and catch long bombs" ploy when all the cornerbacks are fast.
  14. To think just 11 days ago I was incensed the Bulls blew a shot at the number 2 seed. Screw that. This couldn't have worked out any better. We got our revenge, in spades, on Miami, and now it's time to prove we are the best team in the East. Bring it on Detroit. We're ready.
  15. Derek Landri to Jacksonville in the 5th round (surprisingly high) and I think he'll be good. Mike Richardson to NE in the 6th...obviously didn't watch a single game we played. Richardson's awful. I don't think he was projected to be picked. What did Darius Walker do to the NFL teams? He's been the BPA on Kiper's list for like a full round now. Oh, and Carolina with a couple of nice scoops with Robinson and Tim Shaw. I just love our front office to pieces. Not sure about Dante Rosario, but whatever.
  16. Well, I guess we won't take Smith now. What do people know about Stanback? He sounds like he's got quite a bit of raw talent, but is very unrefined as a QB. Yeah, I saw Stanback play against ND in 2005. He's got the talent for sure. We'll see. I don't think it's a bad pick at all for Dallas.
  17. Poor Cardinals...how many times can this happen to one team? :(
  18. In other words, look the eff out when his luck evens out.
  19. I had heard Wolfe rated as a 5th or 6th-rounder, so I have no clue why the Bears scooped him there. I don't know that much about Bazuin but he looks pretty solid.
  20. uh, I don't think NFL teams have a vendetta against a particular college. that'd be pretty stupid. maybe people just didn't think he was that good, or didn't need a quarterback. Agreed. Andy, its kinda difficult to take you seriously in football threads. You are incredibly biased in your assessments. You once argued that the 06' Panthers - after starting out with a losing record in their first few games - would wind up with a better record than the Bears, and now you are basically asserting that Quinn is the love child of Johnny U and Joe Montana. How can you expect us to take you seriously? Did you not see the LSU game? The Michigan game? Most of his "great" games came against second tier competition. That said, I think Quinn will be a good pro, and perhaps better than Russell. But that doesn't mean he is the G-d you see him as being. I didn't mean NFL teams and scouts, I meant the media who spent the last four months destroying him for invented reasons like "sucks in big games" (apparently Penn State wasn't a big game last season and none of the games in 2005 were big) and "no upside" (like we know for an absolute fact that Russell is some kind of upside machine). And Carolina was the most talented team in the NFC, or at least appeared to be when the season was going on, and they SHOULD have been better than 8-8. Then again, I didn't see Chris Freaking Weinke starting three or four games towards the end of the season either. I never, ever, ever made him out to be some kind of god. Ever. I can't emphasize this strongly enough. Calvin Johnson is the best player in this draft and it's not even close. I've maintained this for months. Quinn was a top 5 talent in this draft and plummeted to 22. If this happened to your all-time favorite college athlete, you'd be pretty irate too.
  21. On the ND side, Darius Walker, Rhema McKnight and Derek Landri will all get picked today. Chinedum Ndukwe has an outside shot. Ball State's own Erik Keys may get picked but has an offer from the Ravens to sign with them if he doesn't.
  22. Get off Quinn's stuff. He isn't that good. btw, you sound like ESPN. He IS that good. Explain to me in rational terms why he's not. Nothing about "big games", because that's crap (Russell crapped the bed in his team's biggest game in 06, why does nobody bring THIS up?). I originally called Cleveland as an 07 playoff team, but after allowing myself some time to think about it, I'll pull back slightly. They'll be a .500 team. The other two ND guys were both taken higher than I thought they'd be, but Abiamiri is going to be a good one, Eagles fans will like him. Ryan Harris sucks.
  23. Things I learned today: - Apparently being the face of ND football is more than enough by itself to knock a great player down NINETEEN spots from where he could've and should've been taken. Cleveland got ass-lucky. - Carolina doesn't always do what I want them to do. I wanted them to take Quinn at 14, then after they traded down, I wanted Greg Olsen at 25. I'm not a Beason guy, but considering our office's record of draft success, I can't complain too much. And they went out and had a fantastic 2nd and 3rd round getting Jarrett, Kalil (who I wanted with the pick they snatched Jarrett with), and Charles Johnson. All they need to do now is take a token ND guy on day 2 and me loves the draft. - Miami is galactically stupid. A KICK RETURNER AT THE NINE SPOT? - The Bears getting Olsen is the 2nd-biggest steal of the draft behind Quinn at 22. For a while I was terrified - TERRIFIED - that they'd trade up, get Quinn, and become an NFC dynasty. Olsen worries me less - but only slightly less. - San Diego had a terrible first day. Craig Davis, a guy who was nowhere near the top of the boards at the time he was picked? Trading half your picks to get Eric Weddle? - SF had the best 1st day overall - Willis is going to be awesome and Joe Staley was a great pickup, plus they got a 1st rounder back in a trade with Indy.
  24. Doesn't make sense. If the Raiders aren't getting Quinn, then he'll be there for the 3rd pick. No need for Cleveland to trade Braylon. That sounds like a ploy by the Raiders. "Give us Braylon, or we'll draft Quinn". I think Cleveland like Russell better anyway. That's what I hear as well. I would think that if the Browns were going to trade up it would be for Russell.
