  1. Michigan's won five straight and Illinois just lost to a team that had no Big Ten wins in a year. And Michigan lost to a D2 school and their resume is nowhere close to being as good as Ilinois It will look much better than Illinois after they beat them this week.

  4. The only reason that I wouldn't do that is that if you put OSU behind Oklahoma and LSU now, they wouldn't move ahead of them if everyone won out. Considering they have Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan left, if OSU wins out they deserve to be in the national title game over a 1 loss LSU or a 1 loss Oklahoma. then jump them ahead if/when they beat a good team Put USF at number 1. They've beaten Auburn on the road and West Virginia. They probably deserve it more so than any of those three unbeatens.
  5. If I've learned anything by now, it's that anyone in the Big Ten other than Minnesota can beat anyone else in the Big Ten other than OSU or Michigan, so you're in good shape.
  6. Just as I made that post, Washington took an early 7-3 lead over ASU.
  7. Down goes Cincy to Louisville. That leaves: Ohio State BC USF Arizona State (if they don't lose to Washington) Hawaii Kansas That's all the I-A unbeatens.
  8. And BC 2, and South Florida 3. South Florida didn't have a team a decade ago and now they're one more upset loss away from the national title game potentially.
  9. And Cal fumbles the kickoff back to OSU, who adds another FG. 31-21, with 6 minutes to go. And Cincy's losing too.
  10. plus usc barely beat arizona. i guess we can definitely say that the pac 10 sucks. At this point, I'm perfectly comfortable saying every team in the country sucks, to be honest.
  11. Oregon State 28, #2 Cal 21. 8:30 left.
  12. Speaking of the MAC, Buffalo and Temple now both have two-game winning streaks, and the Bulls are in the driver's seat to win the MAC East division. I expect the world to open up and locusts to descend from the sky any minute now.
  13. I was at the game (in the end zone below the scoreboard). I thought the looked quite good except for the sloppy turnoverfest in the 2nd quarter. I didn't realize Davis is only a sophomore; it will be interesting to see how good he eventually becomes. I didn't realize Mark O'Connell is now Morry Mannies' broadcast partner. He shared the starting quarterback job (with Dave Wilson) in 1978, when I was a freshman. They were 10-1 that year and undefeated in the conference. The MAC didn't have a bowl tie-in then and their one loss, to Louisiana Tech, probably cost them a bid. They did get some votes for the rankings (which back then was only the top 20). Yeah, I was on the sidelines (as I always am - host the pregame and halftime for the student radio station's coverage), and it was ugly in the 2nd quarter, but WKU didn't score in any other quarter, and it was pretty impressive that BSU was able to dominate the game with no running attack. Now the tough part - a three game road trip to Kalamazoo, Champaign and Bloomington. I'd be happy with one win out of the three. Two would be incredible.
  14. Mizzou leads Oklahoma 24-23 after 3. Boy, I'm glad I don't get FSN. :x
  15. Odds of Kentucky being ranked behind LSU this week?
  16. I just saw BC's schedule in a graphic for the rest of the year - there's no one they shouldn't handle. They might well run the table.
  17. A re-spotting of the ball (to take away a 1st down) and a holding call (to take away a TD), while both correct calls, are not going to help the sting of this loss.
  18. Ball State dispatched Western Kentucky 35-12, outscoring the Hilltoppers 21-0 in the 2nd half. Not much hope for an upset left for ND as once again the pitiful offense has left the defense out there so long they've been worn down.
  19. So the Big Ten is down to 2 teams with fewer than 2 losses...
  20. Jimmy might be benched next week. Offense does nothing for a half, Sharpley comes in and leads a TD drive, and a pick-six later it's 20-14. Thanks to a stupid celebration penalty it's now 27-14.
  21. After this season, the only interleague matchup we will have not had is vs. Boston in Fenway. We will have played every other team in baseball at home and at their place. When did the Cubs play in Kansas City? I believe all the interleague series before 2002 were between the respective East, Central and West divisions so I'm sure it was sometime in that period.
  22. I have it on good authority that Western Kentucky will probably win this game because Ball State's QB is going to be way too stoned to play. I hope this is a joke post, our QB is basically all we've got at this point! It is not. The getting high all the time thing isn't new, so he'll probably be as effective as ever. How the heck did you hear this? I'm Ball State student sports media and I couldn't have even guessed.
  23. I put moderate but it's probably closer to detrimental. Already this year I have put off approximately 800,000 homework assignments to surf the Net, a lot of which includes NSBB posting.
