  1. A re-spotting of the ball (to take away a 1st down) and a holding call (to take away a TD), while both correct calls, are not going to help the sting of this loss.
  2. Ball State dispatched Western Kentucky 35-12, outscoring the Hilltoppers 21-0 in the 2nd half. Not much hope for an upset left for ND as once again the pitiful offense has left the defense out there so long they've been worn down.
  3. So the Big Ten is down to 2 teams with fewer than 2 losses...
  4. Jimmy might be benched next week. Offense does nothing for a half, Sharpley comes in and leads a TD drive, and a pick-six later it's 20-14. Thanks to a stupid celebration penalty it's now 27-14.
  5. After this season, the only interleague matchup we will have not had is vs. Boston in Fenway. We will have played every other team in baseball at home and at their place. When did the Cubs play in Kansas City? I believe all the interleague series before 2002 were between the respective East, Central and West divisions so I'm sure it was sometime in that period.
  6. I have it on good authority that Western Kentucky will probably win this game because Ball State's QB is going to be way too stoned to play. I hope this is a joke post, our QB is basically all we've got at this point! It is not. The getting high all the time thing isn't new, so he'll probably be as effective as ever. How the heck did you hear this? I'm Ball State student sports media and I couldn't have even guessed.
  7. I put moderate but it's probably closer to detrimental. Already this year I have put off approximately 800,000 homework assignments to surf the Net, a lot of which includes NSBB posting.

  9. Really? They couldn't? Alfonseca, Perez, Blanco, Rusch There's plenty of reason to think they, or more specifically Jim Hendry, would be this stupid. Trachsel's option is for like twice as much as those guys'. Hendry wasn't dumb enough to keep Izturis at that rate (I think his option was 4.15M or something for 08) and I can't believe he'll be dumb enough to keep Trachsel.
  10. I'll refrain from going insane until I see official word, simply because there is no possible way the Cubs could be dumb enough to do this. Ward's option is a no-brainer. I know it'll never happen but boy would I love to see him reproduce his 2007.
  11. Tampa for some reason has six days in a row listed of playing the Cubs, so we're assuming that they haven't decided which trio of the two is the real series.
  12. Plz win Mizzou I need a bandwagon to jump on after my Kentucky stay ended in fiery death
  13. I love this week. For some reason my delusional brethren are spending more time debating whether to rush the field after ND beats BC (with most people saying that BC doesn't matter enough to rush the field for) than whether they actually will beat them, and here we sit at 13.5-point underdogs.
  14. I'm major anxious for the Predictions Contest results. :D
  15. Great, GREAT news. As my roommate keeps telling me, if it comes out that Cuban's made the biggest bid and he gets screwed out of owning the team, there'd be a fan uproar against Selig. I don't know if I've ever wanted anything in sports, short of a title, as much as I want Cuban owning this team.
  16. That is the dumbest thing ever written. Someone please send it to Fire Joe Morgan, they'd have a field day.
  17. Pat Dillingham was a walk-on 2nd string QB for ND in Ty's first year. He was horrible. Though you wouldn't have known it from the results thanks to Arnaz Battle (MSU game) and the defense (Stanford game).
  18. ND +22 was pretty ridiculous. Regardless of your opinion of Notre Dame, to make them a bigger underdog against UCLA than against Purdue (especially after ND actually looked decent for a half against the Boilers) was sort of silly. That said, Matt Ryan is a giant leap up from Ben Olson, let alone that hyphenated kid they tossed in after Olson was knocked out of the game. I'd be stunned if they beat BC, though I do expect them to keep it marginally close (roughly as close as the Purdue game).
  19. I'm scared of Western Kentucky. They scored 87 on some crap team earlier this year. If you're capable of dropping that much under any circumstances you can tear apart the Cardinals' defense.
  20. FSN Missouri-Oklahoma? Lame. I don't get that channel. Crappy BC teams have ruined ND's seasons at least twice before (1993 and 2002). Now it's our chance to do the same.

  22. USC drops 8 spots for losing to Stanford at home, Wisconsin drops 14 for losing to Illinois on the road. Now, I don't think Wisconsin's very good and haven't all year, but what the eff is that.
  23. This one hurt more, because I was 16 in 2003 and stupidly thought we'd be making our way back all the time. This year I don't have that same feeling about the future. So, 2007 hurt more but only because I was a dumb kid in 2003.
  24. Even when he messes up, I still love this guy. He might be my favorite Cub.
  25. With Cleveland winning it all. If every fanbase but us is going to get their title, then we might as well get on with it.
