  1. explain please He said Soto should bunt so he wouldn't strike out 9 times in a row or something like that. I prefer two homers with 6 RBI jim rome........is such............ a toolbag fee-nominal. ree-diculous. RACK IT.
  2. Cuban said he's "certainly interested" in the Cubs - whatever a deal book is, Cuban said it hasn't been circulated yet. Says he's a baseball fan, and feels lucky just to have the opportunity to be involved with an "iconic franchise" like the Cubs. Says he and Stern get along great - he feels he and Selig would get along great. Doesn't really have any specific ideas for the Cubs should he own them but knows that with the "smart people" that work for the Cubs that he could come up with some things.
  3. Cuban interview coming up. Can't wait to hear what he's got to say.
  4. Alright, go ahead and get Prince out here, Ryan, if you please.
  5. Felix gets rewarded for patience with a strikeout. Dempster hit!
  6. He is but he isn't playing like he wants to, I think he hit the ball past the pitcher one time.
  7. See how Lee scored on that play, Riot? 3-0 CUBS!!!
  8. Amazingly enough, Steve Phillips is making sense with that "bat a nonpitcher 9th if you're going to hit Soriano leadoff" idea.
  9. They do have a crappy lineup, and they do have a crappy pitching staff. But just like in 2006, it's not stopping them from outperforming those pesky little facts. How come we never have any years like that? 1998's about as close as we've come to something like that. I think the 98 team was a good bit better than this Cardinal team, though. In 2001, the Cubs basically rode Sammy, Lieber, Wood and a decent bullpen to playoff contention into September. That was another one. But you'll notice on neither occasion did we make it to the World Series. Or come close.

  11. Akili Smith? He was drafted by the Bengals (I think in the McNabb draft) and quickly busted out. He was terrible in the NFL and, to the best of my knowledge, is now out of the game completely. Wasn't he picked 2nd or 4th? Or somewhere in between. :)
  12. Put the Brewers in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg
  13. Wuertz pulls an Ohman. What a piece of crap he's been.
