Based on the way people talk about the situation around here, and his slump after the HGH stuff at the end of last year, it sounds like the Cards are still very concerned about his mental state and there's just about no way they would try to put him on the mound, even in a blowout situation for a couple of batters. I just think they are so afraid of what being back on the mound might do to him there's no way they would take a chance on screwing up all the progress he's made at the plate. That's kind of what we figured. They totally should, but LaRussa especially would never do that unless he volunteered. Loves that quitter like a son. For what it's worth, as long as he continues to destroy all logical expectations for his performance, I wouldn't risk doing anything to mess it up either.
