  1. you hear that? two near hits. color me impressed. He also had the amazing baseball sense to make about 20 errors in this last series and mess up about 10 more makeable plays.
  2. I don't know. I don't think he's a terrible manager. DeWayne Wise led off when this season began.
  3. I would like him to do well, but if him tanking is the thing that has to happen to keep STL out of the playoffs, then die DeRosa die.
  4. Equal amounts of both, I think. More the first. There is LITERALLY no reason whatsoever DeRosa should've been traded. None. Maybe if you were going to get a good return on him, it's an argument, but three minor league pitchers, unless at least two are pretty highly rated, is not a good return. Now instead we have gotten less production out of LF, RF, 3B OR 2B than DeRo would've given us in any of those spots. I know we couldn't have predicted that Soriano would go into the tank for no reason or that Aramis would get hurt, but that's the fact of the matter. And it wasn't exactly a shock to find that Milton Bradley was a bit of a nutcase and gets hurt a lot. We could've signed Bobby Abreu for 1Y/5M (or a little more to outbid the Angels) and had more than enough left in the budget to keep DeRo. And, BTW, unlike Bradley, Abreu IS ACTUALLY A GOOD LEFTHANDED HITTER WHICH HENDRY WAS TRYING TO GET ALL ALONG. And by the way, he's now going to be a key player in keeping us out of the playoffs.
  5. As awful as Bradley's been most of the year, Soriano has no damn room to talk. Maybe I don't want YOU around if you're not 100 percent to help the team, Fonzie, because you're sure as [expletive] not doing that right now or at any point in about the last two months. That being said, Bradley's a complete nutcase and a total disaster of an acquisition.
  6. Gregg isn't a bad closer. He's an average or so closer. Then I pose this question to you... who IS a bad closer? Me. You. Others on NSBB. Gregg sucks. His ERA is 3.66, mediocre at best for a closer, his WHIP is higher than it's been in either of his prior two seasons closing in Florida, his H/9 is a ridiculous 8.4, his HR/9 is a career high 1.4 right now. (All those stats are entering the game tonight.)
  7. Nasty pitches to get out of that. Let's get an insurance run.
  8. Marmol hits the guy right in front of Cabrera, keeping alive our streak of 8,267 consecutive games of putting on the guy in front of the other team's best hitter.
  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA at Bob "One of the stupidest pitches I've ever seen" Thank you, Micah!
  10. Yah, Z was getting squeezed a bit. Tim Welke's from Michigan. Tim McClelland, on the other hand, is in Michigan.
  11. Z wasn't getting the call Zumaya got on the 1-1.
  12. Here we go. Another K, then probably a long fly ball just to rub it in.
  13. For God's sake, Hoffpauir. Back to the bench with you.
  14. I was just thinking to myself this has the looks of an Ordonez rejuvenation weekend. But a nice catch by Blanco there.
  15. You mean other teams don't K and hit slow grounders 85% of the time? They do hit 3 shallow popups with a runner on third and nobody out though. Yeah, I spoke too soon there. Good work by Z, let's get that back.
  16. I love how easy it seems for other teams to get runs in these spots by comparison.
  17. Well, good hustle Lee. I'll take a run there.
