  1. Not that it was a ridiculous thing to post at the time, but... I'd still be nervous of him though if I was a Iowa fan. The guy throws INT's left and right all over. Game still not over yet. I am hoping for a Iowa victory though, becuase the wife's family is from Iowa. He threw all of what 9 last year. Stop extremely over exaggerating. He's not a very good QB but coming into this game he wasn't an interception machine either. He had 8 in barely a half-season entering this game and has 13 now. That's quite a few interceptions.
  2. Bad as the refs have been, it really doesn't matter if IU continues to play like this.
  3. That must be a nice luxury. If PSU goes 11-1 they will deserve an at-large bid.
  4. Seriously, where the hell is everybody on that play?
  5. you owe me $20, can't speak for derwood. this doesn't really matter frankly; penn st is making a bcs game either way if we win out. Shouldn't have to, if both Iowa and Penn State were to tie in 1st place since Iowa beat Penn State. Iowa hold the tie-breaker, don't they? The B10 (ridiculous) tiebreaker is whoever has been away from the Rose Bowl longer. Iowa wins that anyway.
  6. Everyone's wrong but you... HAHA STANZI!!! Everyone else is rooting for Indiana. I really couldn't care less. I mean I'm rooting for Indiana now, after those calls. But I came in neutral.
  7. Ricky Stanzi wants no part of the Big Ten referee charity.
  8. HAHAHA, not even close. Unreal.
  9. Haha, that personal foul was predictable.
  10. "Ruling on the field stands." :) It wasn't a catch at all.
  11. Jesus, Stanzi.
  12. rofl. really? Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but this is happening way too often lately, especially with the SEC and Big Ten. Perception is reality and whether or not it's true, people are starting to believe that these conference refs are purposely aiding the top teams to keep alive the conference's hopes of title-game $$.
  13. Conference referees have to go. They have to.
  14. It'll stand, his right foot touched.
  15. Wow. Incredibly lucky bounce for Iowa off a good play by the D-line.
  16. A blitz on 3rd and 8 in your own red zone with 15 seconds left in the half puzzles me.
  17. Holy [expletive] Iowa, are you kidding?
  18. Pac-10 doesn't need a conference championship since each team in the conference actually plays every other team. NCAA rules prohibit title games unless you have 12 teams in the conference, which no one ever pays attention to when they start yammering about conference title games (which are dumb anyway).
  19. I don't recall a big "Big Ten is better than Big East" argument last year. More along the lines of "Big East isn't as good as people think and Big ten isn't as bad. " I mentioned the tourney because everyone based the Big East = best conference ever stuff based on their top end teams, and they wound up striking out with them. They had four teams in the Elite Eight and two in the Final Four. No one made the final, but Pitt might have if Nova hadn't upset them - I think the Panthers would've had a good shot at UNC. MSU/UConn was a close game. I wouldn't call that 'striking out'. It wasn't setting the world on fire, but half the Elite Eight and half the Final Four is a pretty solid tournament performance. But, after the hype job the Big East got last year I expected that. Hell the Big ten got two teams in the Final Four in '05, in case you forgot that was another one of the down years for our conference according to the experts. Too many "experts" have agendas. As a Notre Dame football fan who listens to his team get trashed year after year on ESPN because most of our games aren't on that network, you don't have to tell me twice.

  21. The AL/NL rotation currently has the AL hosting the ASG in 2014... This should qualify for a special exception. To make it up to the AL we will give them the Brewers back. Screw the AL over twice? :)

  23. Like the quotes I'm seeing. The Ricketts family says the right things - by April we'll have a good idea if they do them.
  24. I know it's unpopular but I still like the 'regular season is a playoff' thing. Though I don't like the BCS system - there's got to be a better way to do it. I'm guessing that the title picture will sort itself out.
  25. I'm happy you guys are ranked. 6 of 11 teams are ranked. Sweet. Damn it, you just reminded me how annoying it is that this whole thread is going to be Big Ten slurping. (They'll likely deserve it, granted, but it'll still be annoying.) The Big Ten has a good argument for being the best conference in basketball. 9/11 of the teams have tourney hopes to start the season, they have top end teams in MSU and Purdue, the only argument against them is Iowa and Indiana, but I'm not really sure there's a conference that doesn't have an IU and Iowa. It's certainly better than the Big East slurping that went on last year because of all their high end teams(all the while ignoring the utter dreck at the bottom) which amounted to 0 teams in the Championship. I think ND(and Georgetown) makes the tourney btw on a dead cat bounce and a down year for the Big East. There are a lot of good arguments for the Big Ten being better than the Big East. Number of teams in the championship game of a one-and-done tournament is not one of them. It surprises me that on a board full of people who generally agree that playoff baseball is a crapshoot that so many people are eager to jump on a one-and-done tournament performance as justification for one conference over another.
