  1. My pick is obvious.
  2. Every single NFC playoff game this year will be indoors. Crazy.
  3. These games really look they could make a fun weekend - except Jets/SD, which should by all rights be a total blowout. Flacco will have to do much more to beat the Colts than he did to beat NE, though.
  4. The Colts' road to the Super Bowl is tougher with Baltimore coming in than it would've been with the Jets, IMO.
  5. Goodnight Philly. Cowboys/Vikes next week should be entertaining.
  6. In other news, Notre Dame storms out to a 20 point lead by going off for 75 percent shooting in the first half and holds on for dear life to edge out West Virginia 70-68. Although probably an undeserved win, it's a colossal one for tourney hopes. 3-1 in the Big East, and if they can somehow split the Cincy/Syracuse games next week they'd be looking ok.
  7. If you're still alive, sorry Rocket. That's brutal.
  8. So Carleton Scott is on an indefinite leave of absence from Notre Dame, leaving us with a six-man rotation tonight. Memo to Brey: Crap like this is why you play more than 7 players per game. West Virginia is going to clobber ND in ugly fashion tonight.
  9. So Brad Smith took that snap and Keller was ridden out of bounds on that play according to Hammond.
  10. Am I the only one that thinks it's a woman sideline reporter talking whenever Joe Gibbs opens his mouth?
  11. ND viewers subjected to Hammond 8 times a year are having war flashbacks. He is the worst prominent play by play man in sports except Dick Stockton.
  12. Joe Schad just Tweeted Tuberville to TT, will be announced later today.
  13. Maybe, just maybe, it's because he runs a renegade program that breaks/flouts NCAA rules left and right, and because he's a nearly 60-year-old man who acts like he's 25 or younger at times (like the ridiculous display vs UCLA this year). I mean, that might be it. I'm not sure.
  14. He's been leaning UCLA for a while from all I've read. Kelly had an in-home with him last week but last I heard, Notre Dame has some ground to make up. Tony Brooks (ND star RB from early '90s) is his dad, which I just read, and ND is now offering him at WR (Weis was trying to get him at LB), so it will be interesting to see which way he goes. In any case, it's good to see Kelly shooting for the moon.
  15. While on the subject of recruiting, Raisin, what are your impressions of ND and UCLA's battle for Anthony Barr? Have you heard anything regarding which way he's leaning?
  16. I'm seeing lots of stuff that says Mike Riley doesn't want to leave Oregon State and he plans to retire there. FWIW.
  17. He'll probably head to ND (which makes The Voice of Reason's comment even more entertaining) or Ohio State. Brian Kelly's first recruiting class could be pretty darn impressive if he can scoop Seantrel Henderson and a couple of USC decommits.
  18. Is it too what-if/instant-history to say that a Texas win would've been one of the best single-game coaching jobs in sports history? I feel like the way things were going for Texas after McCoy went out that it was a borderline miracle they ever got close. Gilbert really impressed me in the 4th quarter, and the fumble that lost the game really wasn't his fault since he got crunched by an unblocked player on his blind side.
  19. Well, this would certainly cement Pete Carroll for all time as a raging d-bag.
  20. Congrats RF, but stop calling it #13. It's #8. Else we should all get together and dig up every single poll ever voted in college football to decide how many titles our teams have, because I know for one that Penn State would have a few more, ND would have over 20, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, etc.
  21. I'm increasingly coming around on the Jets. I'm thinking they're going to win.
  22. Oh good, RF is going to claim the 12 titles, which by Bama's standard is 'anyone who's ever voted for anything puts us #1 so it's a title".
  23. Mike Brey has everyone beat on the 'never playing young guys' front. We play a 7-man rotation currently and none are below juniors in eligibility. The only freshmen I can ever remember Brey playing more than a couple of minutes a game in 10 seasons as coach were Chris Thomas and Luke Zeller (because they were Mr. Basketballs in Indiana), Tory Jackson (out of necessity when McAlarney decided to drive around with weed) and Luke Harangody.
  24. Because Kirk Hinrich was wide open, and it was a point blank 15 foot shot and hes the shooting guard and....how the hell did he miss that shot? That's as close of a gimme as a jump shot can be. I'm sorry if you can't trust your starting SG to hit a 15 foot jumper uncontested and point blank in the clutch, you have big problems. That's not even getting into his wide open 3 pointer he also missed. He's horrible and getting worse every year. Hinrich sucks at shooting the basketball and has for a while. I was more angry with Salmons missing his wide open 3 to tie. I just take for granted that Hinrich will miss these days.
  25. I watched more college football this year than I've ever watched in my life, and what I get for that is an 11-21 bowl picks record so far. Definitely never betting on these again.
