  1. Is this a serious post? In the last 7 days he is hitting .381 with an OPS of 1.173. He's 1 for his last 6, but I think you may be jumping the gun a little (assuming you are serious). He's probably poking fun at IMB's ongoing "Byrd is hurt" storyline.
  2. Soriano holds a 2.500 OPS in 10 May ABs and if he homers tomorrow will join Hack Wilson, Ryno and Sosa as the only Cubs to homer five straight games.
  3. Wojnarowski says that Calipari is interested in the Bulls' job.
  4. When was the last time you can think of an NBA team that you'd say won the title because of coaching? The Spurs? I wouldn't entirely discount an argument for the Celtics in '08. Pistons in '04 have a pretty nice case. Any Spurs title would be a good argument, and the Pistons wouldn't be bad either. The Celtics would not. They had the most talent, rather easily.
  5. How is he milking an injury? Did you see the last minute or so of Game 5 of the Bulls series? I don't hate LeBron or even dislike him. Just pointing out that MJ would never have done that. This is a bad loss for Cleveland, one I didn't expect.
  6. I'm going ahead and adding "milking a relatively minor injury at the end of an early series to have a built-in excuse for no-showing for a game in the next round" to the list of things that Michael Jordan would never, ever, in a million years, have done.

  9. Well then I suppose what I mean is that Sulley was the one to start using it on this board. I'm sure B&B's usage didn't originate from here.
  10. sorry if you're upset with me using one of your cool words you think is original. how about we make deal where i don't use "meatball", and you don't use "awesome". that's my word and i'm afraid of it catching on. I think meatball was a Sulley creation, but I could be wrong.
  11. Soriano and Soto behind our worst hitter this year. Masterstroke.
  12. We won a pitching matchup we should have lost today so I'm guessing the reverse tomorrow.
  13. They have that "The Mountain" channel that I always see on the TV listings but have never seen anyone have. They also have a deal with CBS College Sports network, I believe.
  14. Bob's also got Theriot as the cub who would get votes for player of the month after Byrd. Soto, Fuku, and Soriano say hi? I about yelled at the TV when Bob said that. Of everyone on this team that gets regular playing time, Theriot has played better than Fontenot, Lee and Ramirez (and really, he hasn't been that much better than Lee even as Lee turns in a pretty bad April). That's it. Don't get me wrong, I want to like Theriot, and if he keeps hitting .330 or whatever it is I'll be more than pleased with him, but that was just a ridiculous thing to say on Bob's part.
  15. Simple solution, Big 12 avoids splintering by taking on the top schools from a smaller conference. TCU and Houston would be logical choices.
  16. Marmol better be ok, though it's definitely Cub-like for someone to get injured like that.
  17. Holbrook's zone got a lot bigger when Howry came in.
  18. Get Bob Howry in this game stat. Our track record against our former relievers is pretty good in Wrigley.
  19. Great, Aramis is up with the wind blowing out and a homer ties it!
  20. Carlos Silva has arrived a month late in Chicago.
  21. Kaplan used Twitter to take an unprovoked shot at Soriano while whining about not hustling. BTW, I knew the millisecond that Len mentioned that Upton and Reynolds were both homerless in their career vs the Cubs that they were both going yard today.
