  1. Ryan Theriot is absolute [expletive] garbage and there is no reason he should play ahead of Mike Fontenot for the foreseeable future. (I know he didn't play ahead of him today) And if Tyler Colvin isn't in the lineup against the next righty we face...God, we are managed by such an inept senile old moron.
  2. Put those damn Cardinals in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg And win this series!!
  3. Muskat says the last Cub with two triples was Jose Macias 5/14/04 at San Diego.
  4. Wow, that was a whole bunch of stupidity we got away with the last 45 seconds.
  5. Yes. This broadcast team is like the anti-Jon Miller.
  6. Hey illiniguy, I think Castro's managing to keep his hitting slump from affecting his game. :D
  7. Me too, nothing good ever happens with your piece of crap rookies coming up. See Hart, Bo or Rod, J. I've always wondered whatever happened to John Rodriguez. He was good for that team for two straight seasons and no one else ever played him in the bigs again. Almost like the other teams know not to take Cards' numbers seriously.
  8. Stop it with the [expletive] hit and runs Lou, you stupid turd.
  9. His career high is 8 per Muskat.
  10. You cannot expect a 20 year old not to struggle some. I'm not hating on Castro, just wish he'd stay hot.
  11. God forbid we ever get someone who comes up and starts raking and keeps raking. And Koyie Hill never hits a ball hard, but of course when he does it's an out.
  12. Damn it Buck, his name isn't pronounced Koss-kay.
  13. Yeah, I'd really like to see those two at the top of the order right now......... 05/18 - 05/28 AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA RC IsoD RBI% Soto 24 1 2 0 0 0 0 4 7 0.083 0.214 0.083 0.298 0.118 3.93 0.4 0.131 0.000 Castro 40 4 9 0 0 1 5 1 9 0.225 0.244 0.300 0.544 0.267 3.59 2.9 0.019 0.174 Didn't we just establish yesterday that Theriot hasn't walked or gotten an XBH in almost a month? Better either of these two there than Theriot.
  14. I just saw the highlights where they only showed Wells' batters. That has to be the unluckiest no out outing in the history of starting pitching. I think the pitch to Molina was the only one that wasn't right where he wanted it or off the plate. The 0-2 pitch to Pujols missed badly, it was supposed to be well outside. I don't know how unlucky it could be, at least 3 of the 6 Cardinals wailed away at the first pitch, so clearly Wells had nothing.
  15. Lou sucks. Move Theriot down, move Soto and Castro up, play Colvin.
  16. But if he did that, Soto might actually have to hit higher than 7th.
  17. Please win this series if for no other reason than I just plain [expletive] hate the Cardinals.
  18. I loved Ryan Theriot bunting with a guy at 3rd and 1 out when his patented grounder to short or 2nd would've worked just fine.
  19. Look, I know Colvin is the "flavor of the year" but who exactly do you want to bench to start Colvin? There's no problem rotating him in a little more often. The dude's hitting over .300 with an on-base of almost .370. Obviously our other 3 outfielders are doing well also, but there's no harm in giving him one of Fukudome's starts here and one of Soriano's starts there. It'll help keep everyone fresh.
  20. Most for an NL reliever. What if he ended the year with the most K's in baseball. Is that possible? not really. even if lou abused the hell out of him and he pitched 100 innings, he'd only end up with 194 strikeouts. the last time that a pitcher led a league with fewer than 200 strikeouts (not including strike years) was 1980 (len barker led the AL with 187 K's). last year lincecum struck out 261 batters and 6 other pitchers struck out more than 194 batters. if lincecum died i'd maybe give marmol a 0.1% chance of leading the league in K's. I recall in mid-June 2008 he was hanging around the NL leaders in K's but he was pitching a ton and firing up an absolutely unmaintainable K rate.
  21. I'm glad we won despite what happened in the 8th. Man, I can't believe Grabow walked his way into trouble and Howry immediately started giving up line shots. There's nothing in either of those guys' recent pasts that would suggest that was going to happen. Lou got taken completely by surprise.
