  1. That Nate Davis bomb to Ted Ginn that traveled 65 yards in the air was pretty sweet to see.
  2. The Panthers have scored precisely zero touchdowns on offense (15 points total) in 2 games, albeit against the Ravens and Jets. Matt Moore has been mediocre, Jimmy Clausen has been mediocre. The only silver lining is that neither Jonathan Stewart or Steve Smith has been playing so we're not throwing out our A team.
  3. And with that I updated the first post with Week 1 AP rankings. Interestingly, no games involve ranked teams that didn't before, other than USC, of course.
  4. Nevada also. So what happens to the rest of the WAC for football? They've only got six teams left. By rule leagues have to have eight teams. My guess is either the WAC or C-USA disintegrates, with one mostly absorbing the other. What a mess that would be. That's 18 teams from Hawaii to Florida. Yeah, 'mostly' I had to put in there because I have to believe that UCF and a couple more of the easternmost C-USA teams would move somewhere else, but I have no idea where.

  6. Just when we thought the realignment was taking a break for a little bit...
  7. ND vs IU in Conseco in Dec. 2011, then vs Purdue there in Dec. 2012 as part of the ND/IU/Purdue/Butler "Crossroad Series". I like this idea.
  8. Chicago is not a capital city.
  9. Don't really blame them for giving Molina a standing ovation. Heck, I would have done the same for Kyle Farnsworth in his first Wrigley appearance after he beat the heck out of Paul Wilson. I guess I can't really blame them too much, but you just know the people there love to take any chance they have to try to prove they're amazing fans. Even if it means giving their punk catcher a standing O for fighting.
  10. Minor quibble, Len, but is sending the worst player on the Cardinals' 25-man roster to the DL really "serious damage"?
  11. I think there's something to that. The biggest tantrum was still the litte exhibition that Carpenter put on the night before. Carpenter was still pissing and moaning about it today. Granted Phillips looks stupid today because the Reds got swept, but St. Louis has done nothing but prove his comments right.
  12. You're basically criticizing yourself for not being That Guy that you always are. well, at least i beat you to it. Yes, because if I'm known for anything here it's for living by the stupid "everything bad of course will happen to the Cubs" mantra. I think he meant the criticizing people part.
  13. It is a dumb thing to say, but no different then when Lou got kicked out of the game a few years ago and the Cubs went on a huge run. The media and all the fans were saying Lou getting upset light a fire under the Cubs, but it had more to do with the Cubs being more talented then any team in the Central Division that year. No, not all the fans. Really, not even close to all of them. The Cubs didn't really take off until Aramis's walk-off against Milwaukee almost four weeks later.
  14. So Jaime Garcia spent most of the first half completely obliterating every other performance he'd ever put forth in the minor leagues or the bigs while going through the motions? I'd love to see what the guy is capable of when he's trying.
  15. They do play one fewer conference game than all the other big-time schools, but it's refreshing that most of them take that extra flexibility and schedule some teams with a pulse.
  16. @ND not even a losable game anymore for a borderline top 15 team? My, it is a bad situation.
  17. My genius school scheduled 2. I'd worry about only 1 of them counting towards bowl eligibility, but we actually have to win both for that to matter.
  18. Anyone who doesn't have their team down as a 'team of interest', let me know so I can add them. 19. Little disappointed Boise State isn't higher.
  20. watch espn for live sports and don't ever watch it otherwise. i guess pti is okay... maybe. I like PTI because it's the only time an ESPN personality expresses an opinion and it's not staged.
  21. Excellent. I was wanting to see the Bulls this year, anyway. OKC also got a christmas day game (wtf) against Denver? That's pretty high praise There are 5 Christmas games (Bulls @ Knicks is one), so it's a nice thing but I wouldn't call it 'high praise'.
  22. My friend and I always go to Wrigley for a few days each year, and we haven't done it yet this year on account of him being unemployed. He just got his job back last week after a 17-month layoff so I was browsing September ticket prices on StubHub, and bleachers for the Giants series in September are going for 10 bucks. The point is, scalper prices right now probably aren't too bad.
