  1. Marshon Brooks traded from Boston to the Nets for pick 27 and a future 2nd rounder.
  2. Didn't the Wolves just pick at 23? That's who we traded with to get 23. But it wasn't even their pick, it was Houston's? So, did HOuston trade with Minnesota, who then traded with the Bulls? NO mention of that on TV. The NBA is dumb about trades and they can't be officially completed until after the draft is over. Houston traded Brad Miller and 23 for Motiejunas and Jonny Flynn, and the Wolves then traded 23 to us for 28, 43 and money.

  4. Well, there's the guy who won't be here next year. One would assume they'll pick a low-ceiling guy who can contribute right away at 30 now.
  5. Bulls just traded 28 and 2nd rd pick for 23. Here we go.
  6. Might as well take a shot on Brooks IMO. We're unlikely to get much of anything out of these picks anyway and Brooks can shoot it. Faried is an awesome pick by Denver. Love his prospects to be a Ben Wallace/Jo Noah hybrid.
  7. It seems like he should be fired just out of principle for that non-move.
  8. Mike Quade, you are incredibly, mind-numbingly stupid.
  9. The part where 3 of them are FOIA-proof due to being private schools probably should have been bolded, underlined and in 60 point font.
  10. His HR call is whatever comes to his brain. Give me that over the staged crap that Michael Kay, Hawk, Gary Thorne, the Mariners' announcers, et al. pull out of their mouths any day of the week.
  11. The last Cub to homer in 3 straight games was Derrek Lee last August, less than a week before he was traded.
  12. Thursday night all the time? Eh.
  13. Hoye was the plate umpire for the 08 home opener, in which he squeezed Lilly on a 2-strike pitch which was immediately followed by Berkman hitting a game winning homer. I believe we misidentified him as Boyd for most of the game and after that AB decided to resume calling him Boyd out of anger.
  14. Might be the first time all year I've had a good feeling about a situation, and it actually proved correct. Pena is red hot at the moment.
  15. I don't like the shamrock helmets. Aside from the fact that the only era ND wore shamrock helmets was an era they were awful in, the gold helmets should stay all gold. I agree that the jerseys are pretty cool, as throwbacks go.
  16. This helped the Cardinals. I'm never one to root for the Cubs to lose regardless of FLS, but if ever L's are ok it's when they come against the team competing against them for the division lead. I really think the Brewers are taking this division regardless of what happens over the next couple days. Cheers to that.

  18. The coach in waiting thing has yet to work out for anyone, really, right? Muschamp still left, the Maryland guy Franklin who was coach in waiting still left, and now this WVU thing...it's almost like coaches shouldn't need to be told when they're done or something. I guess Florida State's Jimbo Fisher move sort of worked out, but it still resulted in Bobby Bowden essentially being fired, which was pretty unfair.
  19. Couldn't have happened to a classier ex-Cub.
  20. I like the 'if' since no one knows if one actually exists.
  21. 3 months from today is the first college football Saturday.
  22. Oh good, the Cardinals' latest from-nowhere awesome ace pitcher gets to shut us down again. What fun.
  23. Where are you pulling this ridiculous idea from? I can afford tickets just fine. I'd just like to avoid another offseason where we end up saddled with 4-5 absurd contracts we can't get rid of. Like, I don't know, right now.
  24. Hopefully it's more of a 'drop ticket prices' set of moves than a 'desperation to boost attendance' set of moves.
