  1. Well, it clearly can't get any worse, so let's go ahead and use both my post-ASB transactions: Drop McCutchen, add Trout Drop Freeman, add Bryce Harper And I might as well switch my WC from Manny Machado to Troy Tulowitzki while I'm at it.
  2. Wild card picks can only be changed during the ASB, so tonight and tomorrow. Thursday as well - there are no games then.
  3. Meh...$8.5 mil for a projected 1.6 WAR this season. I acquired Cespedes in a fantasy keeper league in the off-season. I remain high on him but he's definitely been frustrating this year.
  4. So umm...during the season I'm pretty sure DRose said he needed to be 110% to play. Giving in to public pressure and coming back 5 months before he wanted. Damn it.
  5. Well, it's nice to know that a Cardinal fan has a brain and 5 minutes to look up the stats that say that if our bullpen didn't suck, Castro was performing at 2011-12 levels and Rizzo didn't have a stupidly low BABIP (135th out of 161 qualifiers) that our team would be in better shape.
  6. Orel Hershiser is absolutely [expletive] desperate to rag on Castro. No wonder everyone outside the Cubs' fanbase thinks he's an airhead - every national commentator spoon-feeds them that narrative.
  7. SOMETIMES MAGICAL THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU PLAY HURT, YADIER MOLINA IS A HERO AMONG MEN
  8. IT WAS JUST SUCH A HEADS-UP MOVE FOR HIM TO WATCH AS A CUB PLAYER FELL ON HIS ASS FOR NO REASON AND THEN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT So stupid.
  9. They might hit .400 this season with RISP
  10. Alright, bullpen. Get a scoreless 9th please.
  11. A beyond idiotic statement. There are reasons to be concerned about Castro. Not one of them has actually been addressed by tonight's broadcast team.
  12. If Fonzie can just get the bat around on one of those 99-mph fastballs...
  13. Yeah, it's not like Derrek Lee's shot up 200+ points for his age 29 season. ONLY THE CARDINALS. I love the people that act like a team that never wins shouldn't ever bitch about the lucky breaks their rival that always wins catches because the team that never wins gets like a third of those same breaks. I hate that the Cardinals have Molina, but I don't need to wrap it around some kind of dumbass notion that he and they just lucked into some kind of freakish situation to bolster more of that "pixie dust" crap some people just eat the [expletive] up around here. And if this was a completely unrelated thread I'd be with you. But we're playing the bastards, and he has 3 hits. Believe me, I avoid watching them otherwise specifically so I don't see [expletive] that will make me angry.

  15. Maybe not unheard of, but I definitely want to know how he did it. Slight correction, it was around a 70-point jump, which he then bettered by 60 more points in 2012.
  16. He wasn't a terrible hitter before 28, so it's not like it came out of nowhere. He's been a good all-around player from 24 onwards. The OPS jump is pronounced starting in 2011. So what? It looks more unusual because of 2010, but other than that he was basically getting better as he got older. It's hardly unheard of. His career-high OPS shot up 100 points in 2011 after having already played six full big-league seasons. I'm thinking that's pretty unheard of.
