  1. That's not really SEC bias. Auburn would have the best (Bama), 3rd-best (Missouri), 4th-best (A&M) and 5th-best (Georgia) wins out of the two of them. MSU's best win before today was Iowa. Are Georgia and A&M really as good as their ranking at the time Auburn beat them? The Mizzou win is probably the tie-breaker, as outside of that, both teams would have a win against an undefeated team, plus two wins against (eventual) 8-4 conference teams Neither of them are as good as their ranking at the time, but both are better than Iowa or Nebraska or Minnesota (at least, pre-Murray-injury Georgia was).

  3. OSU looks terrible.
  4. They cheer against the SEC because of the mouth-breathing lunatics who cheer for the SEC, not 'just because they're the SEC'. All you need to do is look at Jay Jacobs' ridiculous behavior the last week to know exactly what kind of nonsense the rest of the country is cheering against.
  5. I'm ok with Auburn getting in, mostly because I think FSU would beat them.
  6. If they both win, Bama goes back to the title game vs Auburn and wins by 2 TDs. So I'd really prefer that to not happen.
  7. Absolutely 0 chance of that. They had to win by blowout for it to be a question.
  8. War _amn Eagle
  9. The ending to this game is going to be lunacy.
  10. That moves Oklahoma into BCS consideration, which probably hurts Oregon's chances now of going to the BCS as Oklahoma, you'd figure, is a better draw for the Sugar Bowl.
  11. More likely Baylor pending a win tomorrow. They'd be going to the somewhat nearby Sugar and every fan they have would go.
  12. I agree, but I wonder what STL will be seeking for that pick. I don't know if they'll be able to get two extra first-rounders for moving down like they did in 2012, because at least as of now there's no clear-cut second-best player as there was with Luck/RG3.
  13. To steal a line from Matthew Berry, Tony Romo is better than Cutler. Don't overcomplicate things, just play the guy who's better.
  14. I'm debating between Jordan Cameron and Garrett Graham at TE this week. Graham's been targeted more lately and is playing Jacksonville while Cameron has more talent but hasn't done all that much in a few weeks.
  15. I like WalterFootball.com, not sure how 'good' it's considered to be though.
  16. huh? He meant beat the 4 seed (likely to be the champ of the horrible Atlantic Division) and then the Pacers.
  17. Would love to see ND back up the Brinks truck to get Jeff Quinn, the current Buffalo HC and Kelly's OC at CMU and Cincinnati, but that's not likely. Failing that, getting a good OC is going to be very important this off-season.
  18. I didn't know this, but Carolina can use every advantage they can get this week so thank goodness for the broken plane. I'm going to be distracted all week leading up to this game. First time in 4 years and only the 4th time in the NBC era that Carolina's been on SNF.
  19. I agree. There's pretty much no chance it doesn't get screwed up though.
  20. B1G issues "public reprimand" for the Buckeye brawlers, no suspension.
  21. Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe resigns. @InsideUSC has Ed Orgeron applying. Seems like a good spot for Pete Lembo too.
  22. USC hires Sarkisian according to ESPN's Joe Schad. That was fast.
  23. The SEC title game loser and South Carolina can't be chosen, so it's really a matter of order, it'd play out like this depending on the Orange's first pick: Orange-Sugar-Orange Bama-OSU-Clemson Clemson-Bama-OSU OSU-Bama-Clemson The Sugar has a pretty easy decision to make, since it either gets gifted Bama or they take OSU because they aren't allowed to take a conference affiliate. Similarly, the Orange is going to take OSU and/or Clemson over the other similar at-large candidates, so there's little controversy there either. Damn it, you're right. There I was getting all excited over the idea of OSU falling to the Capital One Bowl or something and I didn't think it all through.
  24. The thing that could get interesting as it pertains to the BCS games would be if OSU loses to MSU. Bama/Ohio State would then be a feasible matchup for the Orange, a dream matchup for any bowl game, but that would bounce Clemson from the BCS, and I can't believe the ACC would be thrilled about that. If the Orange stuck with Clemson, the Buckeyes would fall out of the BCS entirely unless the Sugar chose them over the SEC title-game loser AND South Carolina, which seems unlikely.
  25. Northsider, a third team in a conference is only allowed in a BCS game if they're the champion of the conference and the NCG participants are both from that same conference but not the league champs (so it would never have happened). Soccer, the TCU/Rose deal was a one-time occurrence that was placed in the 2010-13 BCS contract, forcing the Rose to take a non-AQ school as a NCG replacement the first time one qualified, because the other 3 bowls were sick of being 'stuck' with them. I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with TCU being ranked ahead of Stanford, though I could be wrong. That option having been exercised, the Rose wouldn't be under any obligation to take NIU this time and they would fall to the Fiesta in the selection order. If FSU/OSU win, the BCS lineup TT posted is pretty much a lock. While Bama/Oregon would probably be a better Orange Bowl matchup than Bama/Clemson, the Orange has a relationship with the ACC and they won't risk pissing them off by passing over an eligible ACC team.
