  1. Yeah, this, especially the first half of the sentence. He was brought in for the young guys and the young guys are performing. Not crazy about some of the in-game moves, but I'm hoping that'll come around.
  2. I really don't see Carmelo and Thibs working out. I guess I'd be ok with it because it would give the Bulls a nonzero chance to win the title (basically whatever the chance is Carmelo and Thibs actually would mesh), which is better than they would have without him at this point. But I'm not super-jazzed about the idea.
  3. I started watching on my PS3 last year. There's the occasional hiccup, but it's pretty impressive.
  4. Wonder what Edwin's FIP looks like after again getting [expletive] shelled in the first inning of a game
  5. Len just said Rizzo's OPS vs LHP before that homer was .900. That's a great sign.
  6. "Jackass had it coming after what he said last week" - idiotic Cubs fans, somewhere, probably
  7. OTs or DTs? I like Tiny Richardson here at OT and Dominique Easley at DT. Roberson's a good player too, though. I'm probably a Tiny apologist, though. Others don't seem to like him in the NFL as much as I do. OTs. I didn't see Richardson's name when I was browsing for tackles in the late 2nd-early 3rd area. My second choice was probably another WR, and if a good one's there in round 2 I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Panthers draft 2 straight.
  8. Panthers need tackles, but those all got taken, so they'll fill another position of need and draft Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
  9. WTF is that [expletive]? I despise Whitlock so much. What a clown. I'm not remotely exaggerating: He is the biggest [expletive] buffoon to have ever been given a national platform to voice his opinions (outside of those who don't realize they're not in on the joke like the Duck Dynasty people and other reality-show trash). He's a joke.
  10. 100% That was my guess too. This could really drag on a long time. The legal expert on ESPN.com said he has 0% chance of winning a lawsuit. Yeah, as soon as keeping him around becomes a financial negative for the league I have to think that instantly removes any legal grounds for Sterling.
  11. Psh, whatever. Matt Guerrier is so much better. this is a spectacularly dumb post we didn't trade for him, and the Nats did...and they got a season of virtually replacement-level production and didn't offer him a QO- that's about where it ends; this season's performance is completely immaterial Plus he is not 12-9 with one save over his last 21 games. Maybe they mean his team's record is 12-9, maybe they're just wrong. The W-L record is by far the least important number there in any case.
  12. Psh, whatever. Matt Guerrier is so much better. He has a record of 12-9 plus 1 save over his last 21 games? Evidently.
  13. Psh, whatever. Matt Guerrier is so much better.
  14. Roy's been pulling the goalie early all year, apparently. Colorado's won two games in this series in OT after tying the game on empty-net rallies, so it's working.
  15. I seriously cannot believe we're in a situation where a lede like this is even possible.
  16. I really dislike Gary Thorne. Don't get the love for him at all.
  17. 4 spots too low, but good to see the Internet brain trust at large are as high on them as we are. Although it's hard to argue with SF's team as #1 either.
  18. The LSU/Wisconsin thing is actually impressive on the Tigers' part because they're playing another game at Lambeau in 2016. Alabama's annual home game in Atlanta or Arlington I'm not so much impressed with, especially after they canceled a home-and-home with Michigan State to keep loading up on neutral-site paydays. In the end I suspect this requirement will lead to more SEC teams going on the road occasionally. Even if most of those games are against the Colorados and Indianas of the world it's a net positive.
  19. Drop Jason Heyward Add Khris Davis
  20. Charlie Weis loves the Southeast in the fall, I hear.
  21. Castro again. I'd be ok with him averaging 2 multi-HR games a month the rest of the year.
  22. The point isn't that he was right to say that; it's that he now plays for a team that also has no chance of winning big. If he really was so gung ho about winning he would have taken less to go to a legit contender, or even stay with Texas. As it stands now, Fangraphs has Milwaukee projected for 86 wins. Maybe he could've taken less to go to one of the best 2 or 3 teams, but it's not like the Brewers are a wasteland.
  23. Who said that's why he's a dumbass? Well, you said it here, so that was the implication. And even if you didn't mean that, people off this board certainly have.
  24. Players who went to bad teams before they decided to intentionally be bad are allowed to whine about having years of their career pissed away on some hypothetical farm system dream team. To act like Garza's out of line or a dumbass to say that it sucks to be on teams with no prayer of winning is ridiculous.
  25. You are not crazy http://www.uni-watch.com/2014/01/29/in-which-your-friendly-uniform-columnist-attends-the-puppy-bowl-party/ I think that same site mentioned at some point that the change was made to have the blue cap match the blue on the rest of the uniform.
