  1. A 2.54 ERA and 3.03 FIP with an over 3/1 K/BB ratio is not a #3 on any team unless you are absolutely hoarding aces.
  2. Are players who run hard all the time hurting the club? That's the necessary corollary to your statement. Some of them are. Every time someone argues everyone should always hustle, I remember when Aramis Ramirez was shelved because of an ankle injury he got running out a ground ball on which he was out anyway.
  3. If only I hadn't picked Brian McCann as one of my players
  4. We not only scored but did so 3 times. A win was asking too much!
  5. I'm going to the game tomorrow. The Cubs have lost the last 5 times I've gone and haven't scored in the last 2. That streak is toast no matter who makes the thread.
  6. Shark's windup looks slightly different today. Glove-hand closer to his chest as opposed to by his legs like usual.
  7. Pretty sure there won't be any starting pitchers. Wood, Arrieta and Jackson seem likely to be back at this point. Shark and Hammel good bets to be gone. Villanueva a FA. If the Cubs can get one of the bigger-fish SP, hit on another Feldman/Hammel/Maholm type (and/or land a major-league ready SP when they trade Shark/Hammel) and not have too many severe injuries, that might be ok. That's a fair amount of ifs, though.
  8. Kris Bryant is so offended by Hoyer's stated belief that he needs to dominate more to be promoted that he's decided to not make another out until he's on the big league team.
  9. Should be out, he tapped the bag, but it's close.
  10. It'd be pretty sweet if Ramirez can continue looking like the late-00s version of Marmol.
  11. You are the new most awful person on this site. Who the hell cares about the stupid Marlins anymore? I'm over it. Yeah I get it they beat us in 03, their owner is a POS, they stole money from Miami taxpayers for a stadium no one goes to, and their fans are horrible, the few that they have. I dunno I'd rather see a young unheralded core make the playoffs in relative obscurity than see the stupid Cardinals or Reds make it instead. I'd sign up for the playoffs above 100 times out of 100 just to keep STL out of it, but I'd sure as hell be rooting for that organization to lose ASAP.
  12. I don't want the Marlins anywhere near the playoffs because they'd somehow figure out a way to win it all yet again.
  13. Rizzo's HR swing is a beautiful thing to behold.
  14. This could change, but praise Jebus that at least for now K rate isn't a concern for once.
  15. No DH for the NL until either Wood is gone or the Cubs have nine better hitters on the roster, please.
  16. Yesterday notwithstanding, it's getting really annoying that we keep trotting lefties that can't hit lefties out to bat against lefties in the late innings of close games. Whiteside is the only RH on the bench right now. Maybe, just maybe, we don't need 13 pitchers. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  18. Good on Castro to knock in 3 runs to make up for the 3 runs he cost them earlier.
  19. '89 Cubs manager, '84 Cubs third-base coach. RIP.
