  1. Yes, seriously. I also don't like Jameis Winston, Ben Rotlisberger, Ray Lewis, etc. for similar reasons. There are some things more important than sports. Not sure why you'd think I'd hate Notre Dame when I live 2000 miles away and don't run into too many of their fans here. Sorry then. But a lot of people around here like to parade the tragedy around to embarrass ND when it's a far from cut and dry situation. We have a famous [expletive] local radio guy who tweeted out the girls name a bunch of times during the game last night. Maybe the campus police were incompetent in not responding to the case more quickly, but the football program didn't do anything wrong and what the player was accused of was being a creep relatively benign compared to jameis accusations. That said, Brian Kelly was negligent in the death of that freshman camera man. So I'm surprised people don't go straight for that because there real isn't an argument there. I would suggest dropping the subject, because anyone that wants to know about it already does and has made their judgment on it.
  2. My opponent this week has already exceeded his projection and still has his QB, Roethlisberger, and Odell Beckham to go. He had Denard Robinson, who's going to outscore anyone on my team. After a 5-0 start my team is going down in flames.
  3. At 3-3-1, Carolina remains alone atop the NFC South. Whoever is the top wild-card is going to destroy the champion of this garbage division.
  4. You pity the Panthers themselves? My math is off, as it often is when I'm bellyaching about how awful this team is. The [expletive] thing is, we're in salary-cap hell for basically ever. There's no end in sight.

  6. I pity the 19 teams in the league that don't get to play this [expletive] joke of a defense.
  7. Carolina committed two straight offsides penalties after 3rd and 11 on GB's first drive and then had 12 men on the field while getting a stop on 3rd and 3 on the second. This will be the worst playoff team ever if they somehow win the South.
  8. It was originally announced as being on Fuller (7), but the official box score evidently lists it as being on Prosise (20), which makes more sense. Watching the replay, Prosise was probably being held as much as he was initiating contact, but tough to expect an official to catch the distinction in the heat of the moment.
  9. With ESPN running the playoff, I wouldn't bet on it. That being said, there aren't any great teams, so maybe enough will lose so that they'll have no choice. Right call on the OPI. Prosise totally blew it. He didn't have to make the contact so obvious. come on man, ESPN isn't going to conspire to keep ND out. If they get blown out here, sure. They won't drop much in the polls at all. You're probably right, I'm just pissed (and a few beers deep) and sick of hearing about how ND was 'David' in this game. There was never a doubt in my mind this game was going to be competitive. FSU came in with a resume almost identical to ND's and people overreacted to the UNC trap game last week. Thank God there's a bye next week.

  11. Oh sure, punt, because the defense has been able to stop them once the entire [expletive] half. Are you kidding me?
  12. Winston has activated the No-Effing-Way chip from Madden
  13. Golson went to the locker room with some nebulous leg/hamstring injury. Malik Zaire has attempted 0 passes and now might have to win the game in Tallahassee. I'm getting drunk.
  14. Don't hire VanGorder plz
  15. lol. sports fans are the worst. Yeah, that's dumb. On the other side, didn't someone say he was the best coach in the country pre season? How's that working out for ya? The next good defense Sumlin has will be his first. But I can't believe TAMU fans would complain. It's not like TAMU is Alabama, USC or Notre Dame here. Even if it was, 18-6 regular-season record coming into this season would be good. This was always going to be a rebuilding year of sorts for them.
  16. Matt Ryan @ Ravens or Andy Dalton @ Colts? I've started Ryan all year, but in weeks they've both played Dalton's outscored him 3 of the last 4 times.
  17. Do we want that either, though? A hundred articles from the idiot sportswriters about how Ned Yost flies in the face of sabermetrics and wins based on grit and heart and hustle and all that? Is anyone actually doing that? Every writer I know is basically saying "[expletive] it, he's an idiot, but this is fun".
  18. Yes, this. I was pissed at Fick for the rest of his time in the big leagues (not long). I also remember Wood's big hit against Atlanta. But it does seem odd that there aren't more vivid memories of that series, considering it went 5 games and was, you know, our only postseason series win in any of our lifetimes. I'm guessing the Marlins series just blew it all away.
  19. Russell plans to come back next year, Ishaq Williams does too, and Kendall Moore was out of eligibility anyway. None will be back this season. I'm guessing we'll never actually find out what sort of cheating they did, though I suppose it doesn't matter. Both Daniels and Russell could be drafted this spring if they wants to go that route. That sounds like the route Daniels is taking, though a late-round flier is probably the best he can hope for. Talk around Russell was that he was the type of kid that would value graduating, which made it a head-scratcher that he got himself involved in this to begin with.

  21. It isn't. Aaron Rodgers won't make a handful of terrible throws to keep Carolina in the game as Andy Dalton did. It took a spectacular game from Cam to get the tie yesterday, and I can't believe GB's defense will play as poorly as Cincy's did, particularly against the read-option.
  22. If both Mississippi teams were undefeated, they're both in regardless of what happens from there. Also, I would like OMC to somehow live stream the entire day in Oxford if that happens.
  23. Last week I drew the second highest scorer in my league but scored the most. This week I drew the highest scorer and I will be something like 4th (14 team league). Sigh.
  24. FSU opening at about a 12 or 13-point favorite. Seems about right after ND's sloppy play the last 3 weeks.
