  1. I'm going to lose in the finals because I didn't start Ryan Tannehill (35-some points) over Matt Ryan (19) and was forced to run Stedman [expletive] Bailey out because of all my WR injuries. Sometimes I wonder about fantasy...
  2. First place. Beat Atlanta. Go Panthers.
  3. I did a mock BCS bowl selection exercise under the old system and assumed Mississippi St. would get the nod over TCU based on travel. Maybe not so much.
  4. BRB, teaching myself to be a catcher so I can somehow convince an ace pitcher that he has to pitch to me and only me.
  5. Here's a fun question to be asking in the fantasy football finals: Should I start C.J. Spiller, Hakeem Nicks or Stedman Bailey in my last Flex spot, assuming Hilton and D Hopkins are both out? I have Harry Douglas penciled into the other Flex spot because I'm presuming Julio Jones won't go. And yes, I'm going to lose no matter what I do here.
  6. It means Carolina has the 3rd best QB in the division. Also I presume means he's likely to not become 4th best in his division because of a rookie if he's 9th overall. Ah, that must've been his point. There are an awful lot of bad QBs in the league if the guy I watched flounder against Minnesota a few weeks ago is in the top 10.
  7. Should I have any idea what those numbers mean?
  8. Keep Mariota out of the NFC South, please. Carolina already has only the 3rd-best QB in the division, I don't want to make it 4th.
  9. The 2004 team was awesome and fun, albeit at times infuriating. If I hated every Cubs team that collapsed at the end, I wouldn't like many teams.
  10. God, that is so stupidly hot take-y from Haugh. Is that the kind of crap that leads to getting columnist jobs?
  11. #firstworldproblems, but after barely advancing to the finals thanks to Aaron Rodgers' stink-bomb, I now have a situation where I'm headed into the finals with: Isaiah Crowell, who can't get anything going if Manziel is terrible Nuke Hopkins, who now has no QB T.Y. Hilton, who has some sort of hamstring injury Jeremy Maclin, who hasn't been nearly as good since Foles got hurt Going against a guy who has Le'Veon Bell, Andrew Luck, and Dez Bryant, as well as (if he ever wakes up) Jimmy Graham. Don't love my chances to say the least.
  12. I want to be in first place at 5-8-1 really bad. Go Bears.
  13. If we hadn't done that, we wouldn't have Kris Bryant.
  14. Sounds like more tampering. Beane probably initiated those discussions as part of a master plan to get Russell back in a tampering suit
  15. Without going back through the minor league threads, I think he was posting K-rates in the 22-25% range even during his awesome stretches.
  16. Don't forget basically all of northern and central Indiana outside of The Region, as well as pretty much all of Iowa IIRC.
  17. Yes. Blackout doesn't mean you can't watch on cable, it means it's the only place you can watch (no MLBTV, no Extra Innings). You can go to this site and there's a text box to type in your zip code, and it tells you every team you won't be able to watch on MLBTV or EI.
  18. The Phillies certainly wouldn't be last if they were counting contributions from guys in that span. Utley alone has twice the WAR they gave the Phillies. Good point. Their numbers must be off then, or they're counting Castro, or something like that.
  19. Are they talking about guys drafted between 2004 and 2014, or contributions from guys who were drafted that occurred between 2004 and 2014? Because that could change things significantly.
  20. Yeah, we've all been spoiled. The Phillies and Giants, to name two, are teams I'm about certain have local network deals for at least some games, and those probably don't reach everyone in their blackout zones either.
  21. I hate that Julio isn't practicing right now, but I still should start Matt Ryan vs Pit over Ryan Tannehill @ NE, right?
  22. And I'm saying that would have been the case even if the Cubs stayed on WGN because WGN America isn't going to broadcast sports anymore (unless I'm wrong about that - just going off memory). That was the word, yes. I thought the Cubs represented the last of that, but apparently the Bulls' Saturday games are still on WGN America for this season.
  23. He's great, but he is only around for 1 year, and with Atlanta apparently in rebuild mode they don't get much out of keeping him.
