  1. This is seriously every game. They're incapable of winning a baseball game in normal fashion
  2. I'm on a delay, didn't see the 50 other people post that. God what a bunch of crap that was.
  3. How the hell does Castro not beat that at first
  4. [expletive] the [expletive] off with this [expletive]
  5. For once one of my half-assed observations has some truth to it.
  6. Unless I'm mistaken, rain delayed games that are tied past the 5th are suspended and completed later, so Lester won't lose his hit.
  7. Lester looks the best he's looked as a Cub. #CaptainObvious
  8. Are both teams off Thursday? ETA: They are.
  9. Only baserunner is Carpenter walking on strike 3.
  10. He's good at pickoffs. And I'll concede he's a good clubhouse guy. But yeah, on the field... Not much.
  11. After repeatedly squeezing Lester, it should be noted
  12. Yeah that was a spectacular amount of luck coupled with that ridiculous called third.
  13. I don't remember seeing it before either, but it's just rosin. STL would be the first to call out any cheating they aren't in on themselves. They made the umps check the ball on Greg Maddux once.
  14. Necessary evil to win the World Series
  15. I'm an idiot, forgot he was pitching Sunday. Good catch.
  16. Geez guys, I'm as morose when it comes to St. Louis as anybody, but at least let something bad happen before you go all depression.
  17. Weird that our mediocre offense has 2 reps but our fantastic pitching staff has 0. I'm glad Bryant made it, though. And Arrieta could still slip in as a replacement.
  18. I think there's a definite attitude, as Morosi said in his recent article, that the FO would like to go get a starting pitcher that will be around next year, which would serve as a this-year upgrade while also checking off an offseason item. The question is who that pitcher is, because as you say there aren't a ton of sellers right now.
  19. CCP described it better than I did. I want to upgrade, and hopefully a good opportunity to do so presents itself, but the unusual set of circumstances we're in makes an 'all-in' type move seem unlikely. If we do get the opportunity for a kick-ass asset at a reasonable price, even if that price includes one of our top guys, I hope Theo goes for it. Right now, we're definitely in a seller's market, though. Prices aren't going to necessarily be reasonable, and we're likely going to be in the wild-card game anyway. I can't deal with another 3 months of this. What would you have us do given that any pitcher we would acquire only has a 50/50 chance of actually pitching for us in a playoff game (presuming we don't start said pitcher in the WC game)?
  20. 27 years old AAAA-type, high slugging most of the way through the minors. Probably a mix of both.

The more I think about it, the more I want an offensive upgrade over pitching if we're doing something for this year.
  22. Only UMFan's teams. I have that same thing though. Zbikowski punt return in 05 USC game (which I attended), the first 37 minutes of the Kentucky game, all the Cubs ones you mentioned, Muhammad's TD in the Super Bowl, etc.
  23. Theo is saying he's not going to overpay, and if we can't make a serious run at the division, I'm fine with that. That said, he'll find a trade.
