    I appreciate that Len wants to defend Ross, and he has his moments, but people don't criticize him because he can't hit. They criticize him because he's Lester's binky and as a result we have to play him in even worse matchups than he already faces due to his inability to hit.

    Someone needs to supplant Wada. This 6-7 innings of bullpen because he is hurt or ineffective every other start isn't going to work.

    Yeah, that's super lame, but if they funnel that money to the payroll I'll survive.

    kershaw is exactly the sort of guy you would want montero to avoid. also this wind better stop/shift or wada is legit going to give up 5 hr tonight. It's probably just rationalization, but part of me thinks that it might be better this way. Make it a game where neither starter makes it through 4 because every fly ball is a home run, that way the extreme SP mismatch matters less because you have to score 15 to win. I like this way of thinking, but the Cubs are constantly unable to get the ball in the air on days like this, it feels like.

    At one point in like June of 08 Marmol was 2nd in the NL in strikeouts, which was completely bonkers.

    I wouldn't trade with STL on account of they have an actual pact with Satan and there's no way their players would be any good in Cubs uniforms.

    Montero's defense wasn't especially helpful tonight either. I didn't get to watch too much of the game, but I happened to be watching during both of the Coghlan plays, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Montero had a passed ball that brought in the Indians' second run. Since Hammel struck out the next 3 batters, the run was unearned.

    Time heals all wounds, but a pennant or two would really get the job done there.

    That kid is [expletive] good. That was an incredible AB against a really good pitcher, ending with effortless oppo power.
