  1. It's not just the best LOB% in baseball, if it continues it will be the best in history. Pretty easily, actually.
  2. We're riding this Butters wave straight to the title
  3. Our bullpen has been [expletive] beastly of late. I mean, everything about the team has been, but the bullpen is a really cool segment of that.
  4. Richard as a good reliever being a real thing would be awesome.
  5. Russell is such a good shortstop. It's ridiculous.
  6. That was like the Carlos Quentin homer off Marmol when he basically checked his swing and hit it out, only this time it was a slap hitter
  7. What the [expletive] was that. Adam Eaton throws the bat at it and it goes out?
  8. He's a bit on the beefy side but I don't think that's fat beef. He's just a big dude.
  9. No, ball was on its way in by the time he arrived at 3rd. still requires an accurate throw to home (and a good bounce if it bounces) and the catcher to make a good play and tag on it. Chances of Montero (or Denorfia if Montero walks) coming through far better than the chance the Sox screw that play up badly enough to allow Rizzo to score. strongly disagree with "far better" Semantics aside, they were better. It would've taken a pretty bad [expletive]-up there for Rizzo to not be out by plenty, and it's the 1st inning, we're already winning, and we'll likely have more chances. I'd have been annoyed with a send there.

  12. I like them better than either of our regular gray tops.
  13. None of us are likely to live to see it (unless it's the Indians, I guess), but with 30+ teams now in every pro league, there are going to be 100-year droughts without titles more often. I wonder if other fans will always be as shitty about it as they are towards the Cubs.
  14. That's what I get for going from memory. Soler was probably due for a day off, although it's too bad he has to get one when he's actually hitting pretty well of late.
  15. Lineup per @MLBLineups Fowler, Schwarber (DH), Coghlan (LF), Rizzo, Bryant, Soler, Montero, Castro (2B), Russell
  16. David is right - even if the Cubs felt like they could sign Bryant long-term at some point, it made sense to hold him down because that enables them to have to pay less money to buy out that year of control. The only way holding down Bryant might not have made sense would've been if Boras/Bryant said, "We'll sign a long-term deal but only if Bryant is NOT held down those 2 weeks."
  17. I saw that. Our fan base can be a bunch of turds sometimes.
  18. The beginning of the cluster luck turn that will give us the division! Probably not, but funny to see that happen to them.
  19. He pimped that shot too. Not over-the-top, but he took a sec to enjoy it. What a stud.
  20. Solid outing by Lester even with some silliness interspersed. Let's hit a couple more dongs and finish this out.
  21. A big wow at this stat. [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/631922229694046208[/tweet] Unless I'm mistaken, that 6/21/08 was the Edmonds 2 HR in one inning game.
