    The upshot to yesterday's rainout, now we don't even have to run out 5th starter du jour in an important series.

    ND RB #2 Greg Bryant out for the season for failing to maintain a C average, extending the streak of important ND players getting tossed for academics before the first game to 3 seasons.

    I don't doubt Jackson was professional and helpful to the young guys, but you sure do seem to hear a lot more about it when the player in question is [expletive] terrible at actually playing baseball.

    Just saw in a Yahoo fantasy sports article that Fangraphs has Bryant as the 2nd best baserunner in MLB this year behind only Billy Hamilton.

    When was the last week this big for the team? Would any week in 2009 qualify or does it go back to the 08 playoffs?

    This is about where I am. Not the biggest fan of the plan but thanks to nailing several of the moves it's worked pretty well.

    Of all the [expletive] weeks to lose Bryant if that's what it is. We haven't had bad injury luck necessarily, but the timing sure has blown chunks at times

    It is fast. Early word was he was out 6 weeks and I think I remember it being said that might have been optimistic.
