  1. Yeah, Len mentioned it when Motte got #7 too. I'm sure he thinks it's amusing.
  2. Yep. They're considered two different rounds so teams can do whatever they like.
  3. Fiers struck out the side in the 8th. 120 pitches but no no still alive.
  4. That was a really dumb thing to tweet. When one division has the 2 best teams and 3 of the best 4 in it, you probably shouldn't be whining about what's "fair" as far as schedule sequence. Besides this is just the payback for that absurd stretch of teams we faced a couple months ago.
  5. Coghlan has been a godsend this year. Best scrap-heap FA pickup we've had in a while.
  6. That's correct.
  7. As the schedule falls, we wouldn't necessarily need a 4th starter due to days off. Strop, Grimm, Rondon, Hunter, Wood and the 4th starter, whoever it is (Hammel is scaring me), would be a start for the bullpen. Probably throw a couple more arms in there (I hope Motte's not one of them and if Soriano is one I'm going for the heroin). Baez v. Herrera as defensive replacement/last-ditch pinch-hitter. Everything else probably falls the way it is now barring injury.
  8. The latter story was told by Sutcliffe on Wednesday's ESPN broadcast.
  9. I've posted before in this thread, but it's been so much fun watching him improve so rapidly.
  10. I don't know that I've ever been in a hotel that got the RSN, although I don't always look.
  11. Castro can actually make contact and get a fluke hit or two, pitchers know exactly how to pitch Soler if they need a strikeout
  12. Not any serious talk, and the playoffs really can't expand any more or the World Series will be getting played in mid-November.
  13. Boston has made a lot of prospect for MLB star trades since Theo first took over as GM. Including one involving a guy named Anthony Rizzo you may have heard of.
  14. It sucks to score a fair amount of runs in games we lose
  15. Can we hit some of those? If their [expletive] pitcher can hit one...
  16. Damn. If the throw were just a tiny bit better Kinsler would've been toast.
  17. Stephen Piscotty almost homered in his first at bat then homered in his 2nd. I wonder how many of their players would have to get hurt before their replacements didn't immediately produce
  18. The last couple of times we've run into a 'ace needs to be a stopper' type of game, Lester has come up big. Confident he'll do so again.
  19. That was a lot of staying up late for very little. 3 back of Pittsburgh. Sigh
  20. I know Cabrera is scary but pitching around him to face a 30 home run hitter isn't my favorite plan
  21. We cannot [expletive] lose on this ridiculous perfect bunt crap
  22. Our pen is better than theirs. We have a good shot
