  1. Pretty [expletive] sweet sequence by Jimmy Butler here down the stretch.
  2. Honestly. You'd think fans of a franchise that has won 2 titles in the last decade and makes the playoffs every single damn year would have the ability to put things like a largely meaningless award into perspective.
  3. I wanted to throw a brick through my TV as they kept talking about "how a team is playing now" So if Bama lost their first 5 games, who cares, look at how much they beat a decent Miss St. team by!! I'm not remotely convinced Mississippi State is decent. They've beaten exactly nobody. Frankly I think outside of Alabama the SEC West isn't that good at all. The division's collective best win besides each other is mediocre Wisconsin.
  4. I suspect TCU is about to plummet anyway. Oklahoma might just rout them.
  5. I think they're both freelancers as far as GQ is concerned.
  6. i thought Rodgers looked OK but i'm guessing Davante Adams had money on the Lions; that might have been the most comprehensively terrible WR performance i can recall what was it, 64 yards on 18 targets and a flat-out drop of the 2-point conversion to force OT? edit: 79 yards on 21 targets; putrid. To be fair to Adams, I watched that play and the Lions DB got a hand on the ball. Still could've been caught but it was a great defensive effort as much as anything else.
  7. I think A&M sucks out loud and Mississippi State has yet to beat anyone worth a [expletive], but you're probably right. LSU probably wouldn't fall out of the rankings if they lost, if I'm being honest.
  8. If Ole Miss and Northwestern can manage wins, Alabama will have 0 wins over ranked teams this season.

  10. Because the committee doesn't give a [expletive] about quality of loss (see 2014 Ohio State; I don't think the way ND lost is really a factor in their current ranking no matter what they say). And conference championships is a written criterion in the committee rules - Oklahoma would have one if they win out.
  11. ND is in at 11-1 if Oklahoma and Oklahoma State lose sometime in the next 2 weeks, or if Michigan wins out. If OU wins out I get worried. (I have to root for Michigan, what the hell is this)
  12. Not before the Pac 12 refs desperately tried to help with a ridiculous PI call on Oregon. ND's SOS going down in flames today. I'm going to be cursing those [expletive] drops and fumbles at Clemson forever.
  13. I didn't think it was in doubt.
  14. They're 5-5 and haven't played anyone good in the East except Ohio State. They suck.
  15. It was 7-3 when I posted that and it was late 2nd quarter. I knew OSU was going to pull away because Illinois sucks, but it gets annoying seeing them just able to sleepwalk through half the game against everyone they play.
  16. Ohio State has played 10 mediocre to bad teams and has pulled this half-ass garbage in like 8 of those games. That's what life is like when you give yourself a 3 game season.
  17. Yet another coaching change https://twitter.com/GabeDeArmond/status/665275049172045824 ETA: Apparently he was diagnosed with lymphoma in May. Said that he decided before the last week's events that it would be his last season.
  18. I thought Oklahoma State would be 4 this week. Any unbeaten Big 12 team is getting in, ultimately. The whole point of expanding to 4 (in my view) was to ensure any unbeaten Power 5 school would always get a shot at the title.
  19. Yup, this is where the Big 12 canabilizes itself so that no one makes the playoffs, while a 2 loss Michigan team wins the Big Ten and claims the 4th spot  Absolute chaos would have to reign, but UM could still get in. I think Michigan will win out (and hopefully open up a playoff spot for ND in the process) so that MSU loss might end up stinging even more.
  20. Bump since this is the actual thread for this week so it doesn't get lost.
  21. There was an SB Nation article a while back, and I swear I'd link it if I could find it, that said Alabama played like the 2nd-best single game by several advanced stats in the last 25 years against Notre Dame. That game was far more about Bama than anything else, but as usual no one cared about that when there was an opportunity to call an ND team fraudulent - never mind that Bama basically did the exact same thing to LSU a year prior and no one was calling the Tigers a fraud then. I'm not even all that high on this ND team - I think they're very good, not sure about great - but talking 'eye test' about them is ludicrous. No one was talking 'eye test' when Bama had to score in the final 2 minutes to beat [expletive] Tennessee.
  22. And, if they were to finish 11-1, would possess wins over #10, #14 & #17 in the S&P+ rankings while having played #1 to essentially standstill on the road despite innumerable fumbles and dropped passes in a hurricane. (They themselves are currently #6 in S&P+)
  23. Other than the fact that they score like 35 points per game, have only really "escaped" twice (once after their QB broke his ankle during the game), and are more talented pretty much across the board than that team was, yeah, exactly the same.
  24. Definitely Hurns if he plays.
  25. Who has the 30 seconds button? DirecTV remote does. I assume it's not the only one
