All it took to beat Arrieta was some ludicrous umpiring and one of the biggest BABIP disparities in the history of the game

Rizzo hits for someone next inning, just a question of whom. Heyward probably does too
  3. Andy
Assuming Ross is coming in to catch, I really don't get why he didn't just hit for Montero
  4. Andy
Cahill got the whole job done but the first base ump decided it doesn't matter when you stop the bat on a check swing
  5. Andy
Len's almost deadpan "Joe said that was a full swing" when Joe clearly said a different F word was almost worth it though.

He went, and the quick hook is the ump admitting it

    Arizona BABIP today is .900

Corey Seager is crazy good. 2 more homers tonight.

I didn't understand the move to IBB Zobrist down only 1 run with 2 out, so I'm quite pleased Russell made it look dumb

This is becoming concerning Rondon is standing in the pen though not throwing. I'd be concerned if it were his arm or appeared to be remotely serious
  12. Andy
    Dong this fool, Russell.

We're 2 for 2 on granddaughters wanting no horsefeathering part of their granddads putting them on TV this week.

Whew. I had a bad feeling Warren was going to crap the bed there. Nicely done.

The championship game isn't confusing, the division part is. If they don't need divisions - and they don't - they might as well just match the 2 highest-ranked teams in the committee rankings. It makes little practical difference, though.
  16. Andy
Seriously, what the horsefeathers. I'd rather see 2008 NLDS highlights than that.

In news that doesn't involve schools covering up or not caring about violence against women, the Big 12 is apparently bringing back their championship game starting in 2017 even with 10 teams. For some reason, they plan to split into divisions even though everyone plays each other anyway.

Anecdotally, it seems like opposing managers opt not to challenge a fair number of calls I think were wrong.
  19. Andy
Probably. I'm guessing TLS has more range and might have a stronger arm, too.

She was clearly only with him for his looks
  21. Andy
Yeah, I don't really get that one either. Other than Molina and the occasional annoying comment from Wainwright, I don't think I hate anyone on that team more than anyone else.

Fortune smiling on us this inning.

Urias will be a very good pitcher. He will be better if he watches Hendricks execute his lesson plan tomorrow.
  24. Andy
The Cubs need to electroshock Javy every time he swings at a three-ball pitch outside of the zone.

Awesome though we may be, I'm not sure we're any more likely to win any given playoff series in 4 or 5 than we are in 6 or 7.
