  1. Well, I'm not stunned I was wrong on that. I think I've blocked out a good portion of the Rose soap opera.
  2. If I remember correctly, he was able to dunk off either leg and still wasn't playing after the first injury and that's what the controversy was.
  3. Unless it's another Arrieta I won't be satisfied
  4. Eh, you guys already lost. Why be stressed about playing with house money? We lost? Weird, because I could've sworn that I celebrated a win Sunday night. It's pretty obvious that he's saying that after a miracle like that, everything else is gravy
  5. I'm in a knockout pool - 1 pick per day, can't pick the same team twice, last one standing wins. So far I've used up Kentucky, Xavier, Iowa State and Maryland. Today I picked Oklahoma.
  6. The Giants are the 4th doomed team.
  7. Also, I missed the Wisconsin and A&M endings while driving home last night from Indiana. Damn it. On the other hand, my team is in the Sweet 16, so that's horsefeathering cool
  8. The UNI/A&M comeback was the first time in NCAA basketball history (all of it, not just the tournament) that a team was down as many as 12 with 44 seconds left and won the game.
  9. Yup. IIRC all parties involved decided it wouldn't work at all if they went that direction and changed it to her continuing to be a villain. I read that test audiences were the ones who rejected the anti-heel turn. Thank God.
  10. If Matt Farrell didn't cramp up last night ND probably loses. Beyond me why he played so much, he was utterly brutal. Stephen F Austin scares me, but it would be super cool to make it to consecutive Sweet 16s after only ever seeing 1 before in my life.
  11. 38.8% of ESPN.com brackets had MSU in the title game according to ESPN PR Twitter account. I think I'm with UMF, biggest upset of all time.
  12. That's pretty excellent.
  13. Yeah, that's freaking awesome.
  14. The SBNation Twitter bros would be a Cinderella for me. The comment on their voting page about them pretty much all being the same person was absolutely spot-on.
  15. Didn't know that, should've
  16. LMAO STL fans are still piping mad at Joe Maddon for saying "we'll finish it" 6 months ago, but sure dude

    NFL Offseason

Apropos of nothing, I went to school and worked a little with Ryan Wood. He was 2 years behind me at Ball State.
  18. Those mid-majors that only have 4 or 5 losses always scare me. Seems like they are constantly in close games down the stretch in the tournament. Stephen F. Austin is another team like that this year, just as they were when they won their 5/12 game a couple years back.
  19. Monmouth being out at the expense of basically cancelling Syracuse's crap stretch without Boeheim (never mind that he wasn't there because the crusty old coot was running a cheating program) is a joke. ND/Michigan, IU/Kentucky and Texas/A&M as potential matchups show the committee has a sense of humor.
  20. Supposedly he has rib cage inflammation and Hurdle said he won't be ready by then.
  21. My Panthers
  22. There's probably nothing to it, but with our studly outfield options, I'd be fine with sitting Soler when it's cold unless he has a platoon advantage
  23. I like Fowler at the top. Zobrist at 2 is fine, Schwarbs there would be cool. Bryzzo 3/4. But there aren't many wrong answers with this group.
  24. It just strikes me as #firstworldproblems complaining. People bitch up a storm that college football games aren't scheduled at the most convenient possible time, but don't care that the title game ends past midnight on a Monday, killing kids' ability to see the game. Not that I'm doing a "but think of the children!" thing, but the point is there was no perfect way to schedule those games, at least not once the SEC and Big 12 teamed up for their silly Sugar Bowl deal to lock in the NYD time slot.
  25. Due to NYE falling on Saturday this year, the playoff just announced that the two semifinals (Fiesta & Peach) will kick off at 3 & 7 p.m. ET instead of 4 & 8. Orange Bowl will move to Friday night, Dec. 30. I liked the NYE/NYD tripleheader concept (although with NYD on Sunday those games are on Jan. 2 this year), so I'm not in love with this. Also not crazy about how this will inevitably embolden the people who spent the last year whining about the NYE games, which I got sick of very very quickly.
