A little annoying that we only have 2. Good thing the 1B didn't catch Russell's liner.

I'm in Chicago now and saw today's horsefeathers show, and I'm not too thrilled about now trading out Hendricks for Matusz tomorrow. Oh well

That makes absolutely no sense. Of course the Bulls couldn't clear room for 3 max contracts. That's essentially impossible to do, isn't it? They weren't on max contracts in Miami, right? I don't think so, but darn close.

I was going to say, inasmuch as Russell has any weakness at all defensively, his arm would definitely be it.

Javy being even a little tiny bit patient has made him so so so much better.

    Bullpen of doom is fun

Interesting move by the Sox to ensure Lackey leaves the game and activate the bullpen of doom

I'm a big fan of this scenario in the playoffs.

Wind is blowing in so that Bryant hit should have been a dong

So I hope Zobrist plans on getting us that run back since Heyward would never have allowed it

Especially in this lineup, where there are 4 righties in a row directly behind him.

Stop pretending like it wasn't a stupid idea to have them on new years eve. Maybe it was stupid. It wasn't a crime against humanity, which is what it was treated as by just about everybody. I thought it was a cool idea to have 6 awesome games over 2 days, but it didn't catch on.

this is the best defense of a (perceived) overpay i've seen, even though it probably assigns too much credit I don't know that Theo intended to throw off other teams, but I think he definitely saw value in being the first to jump into the market, given so many top-tier relievers are out there.

Will be played the preceding Saturday, with the exception of 2021 and 2022, when NYE is a Friday (federal holiday) and a Saturday respectively. Now everyone that complained about this can move on to complaining about how the playoff isn't big enough (I assume).

JD is going to be a barrel of laughs tonight. He's gone out of his way to make a crack about Sale every day since the cutting happened.

    horsefeathers the closer in style

Chapman hasn't pitched in a few days, he's going in anyway

That was AWESOME by Javy. Finally we make Ventura pay for extending the starter!

Dang that one carried. Thank God we won't get no hit

2008's mantle as my favorite Cubs team ever seems pretty damn secure

Unless we score a run tonight

Other than Heyward has anyone even hit the ball hard? I'd say this is unbelievable if I hadn't been watching this offense the last week.
