  1. MLB.tv completely went to hell for me to the degree that I barely cared how the game ended because it made me so mad. At least we won
  2. We have to be closing in on some sort of record for LOB over a month stretch.
  3. My God Javy. That kid is gonna kill himself at some point. What a play
  4. Not only was that guy in the stands dressed as a banana, I'm pretty sure he was wearing a black Power Rangers uniform underneath the banana costume.
  5. Simmons makes no secret of the fact that he is not remotely interested in college sports, so I barely notice stuff like that anymore.
  6. If we'd had better luck in coin-flip games we'd have a chance still, but at this point the injuries are starting to pile up. Schwarber, Soler, Fowler all have hit the DL (none back yet), LaStella, one of the major fill-ins for the three DL'd guys, is himself on the DL, and if this Rizzo thing results in a DL stint (I doubt it will, but who knows), that's yet another key piece on the shelf. I guess there's some sort of irony here that we've had essentially zero pitcher injuries and so many of our hitters have gotten hurt.
  7. I like most of his podcasts because his rapport with his friends is mostly entertaining and many of the guests he has on are interesting. But he connects almost literally everything now to something Boston-related - it's self-parody at this point - and his incessant whining about Deflategate (as if every other fan base in the NFL wouldn't trade 'being railroaded' or whatever you call it for 4 titles and the greatest QB/coach combo of all time) lost me over a year ago.
  8. About the same, but I feel a lot worse about the Wizards
  9. We're incapable of putting out a flat-out bad lineup, but...without Rizzo and Fowler we start looking pretty ordinary. You can say that of any team that loses 2 of their top 3 hitters, of course.
  10. We had absolutely zero chance at the title in 2013, and to some extent that year was annoying because Derrick Rose refused to admit he wasn't going to play, but if you didn't enjoy the Nets series (Nate Robinson Game, Joakim Noah basically winning Game 7 by himself) and then Game 1 against the Heat, you have no joy in your heart.
  11. We have the worst Pythagorean fortune I've ever seen.
  12. 23-18 after the loss tonight. That .800 win percentage was pretty.
  13. This feels like the longest losing streak of all time
  14. Heyward has been less bad lately, but every time I actually see him bat he's doing the 4-3 again
  15. Time to fold up the tents, should've just kept tanking.
  16. Zach Lowe said the same.
  17. Hard to believe given how many good STL teams and how many crappy Cubs teams existed in those intervening years.
  18. I would feel pretty sorry for the Mets if they hadn't gotten to experience more fun last October than we've had in 70 years.
  19. I second the plunking...yes, I'm a Neanderthal...or just really dislike the Cards and Matheny So you want to throw a really hard object, at a really high speed at guys that could potentially injure them (and lead to our players be injured or suspended) just because, feelings? Cool thinking Matheny went at Bryant's head on Monday just because Lackey dared pitch inside and clip Moss on the elbow guard. I shudder to think what those assholes would do if we actually did intentionally hit someone.
  20. Already being discussed in the Bulls offseason megathread. No indication of money going NY's way in the deal.
