    The thing is, pathetically enough, it probably was. Either the '11 Bulls or the '12 "we're a few months away from Brooklyn inexplicably giving us their next 5 drafts for a pair of post-prime guys" Celtics. Real answer: The '10 Celtics were fresh off Doc Rivers costing them Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Alternative: Just imagine if the '11 Bulls had the PG whose injury single-handedly cost them the playoffs this year. Imagine having a stud like that The '10 Celtics were before The Decision, which is what I thought the time frame was per 17S' post, but it seems we jumped past that.

    It's a incredible record, I'm not saying it isn't and Lebron would have come out on top pretty much regardless. I'm just pointing out that the level of competition to get through in the East has just been pretty meh over the stretch. Who's the best East team he's had to go through? Those Pacers teams for 1-3 years with PG, Hibbert, West and Granger or the Celtics teams that were already on the downside? I was told it was the Bulls. The thing is, pathetically enough, it probably was.     I just love that Jason Heyward is good enough now that Joe could turn him loose on 3-0.

    Obviously I would rather have a player do that too. It's just a quirky thing that's kind of cool and hasn't been accomplished by a Cub in a long time (Grace in 93 is still the last one right?). Correct A small part of me is still bitter Todd Walker's line drive wasn't 2 feet lower in Houston in 2004, resulting in his second homer instead of a double.

    His utter lack of effort led directly to 5 Boston points at key junctures of the game. It was annoying the hell out of me. You've got 4+ months to rest after this series, for God's sake.

    I am completely befuddled as to the handling of Valentine and to a lesser extent Grant. Why start Grant if you're just going to staple him to the bench if he sucks for the first few minutes (then allow MCW to murder the team for a far longer stretch)? Why not play Valentine at all? Is he that much worse than Joffrey FrenchnameIcan'tspell?

    Bronson Arroyo, Cincinnati? Seriously? Bronson Arroyo? That's who you want to push out in an attempt to stem the overwhelming tide of dongs that now envelops your entire city? The brutalization continues. Cincinnati will be a smoldering shell of disgusting failure after their humiliation is completed in this game. Not even the specter of possible runs scored against tooth-faced John Lackey can stop the parade of destruction that our dongsmen have begun. Your cameo in first place was just that, a brief moment of glory for an irrelevant horsefly before it crashes headlong into the windshield of oblivion. Look upon your conquerors, Cincinnati, and despair. Unleash more dongs.

    It's become clear that our mighty champions are not merely content with destroying foes this year. Their hearts must be ripped out. They must have the audacity to believe they have triumphed, only to be left in shock as our dongsmen reveal to them the foolishness of their belief. This cruel play will once again play out in this game. Again the Reds are tossing out a human sacrifice. Only time will tell if the Cubs will put him out of his misery early or if they will allow him, too, to foolishly believe he has solved the unsolvable. Unleash more dongs.

    They are great. And Ross is actually really funny. He's been perfect as the hapless clod in these and the All-Star voting commercials last year. The fax machine All-Star commercial was utter gold.

    That was my exact thought. It sucks, but hopefully Jimmy can run some point and Grant/MCW can be a non-disaster for a few minutes at a time.
