    Pat left me two more messages to tell me mine had shipped and then just thank me for my patience. What a classy guy. Did he recommend Binny's Beverage Depot for all of your beverage needs? There are SO many ad reads during games now. It's hard to believe Pat can broadcast the game sometimes between shilling Binny's, Benjamin Moore, Office Revolution, etc.

    That character about ruined the movie for me (not that it's high art to begin with). There's nothing funny about him (I assume the movie was going for laughs with him), he's just horsefeathering infuriating to listen to.

    Nit: The first highlight is from Game 1, which we lost. That was the only game of the series in which we wore gray.

    This is what I think, and it's what used to happen when the lottery first came to be. The only potential issue with that is like garbage 8 seed teams maybe trying to tank into the lottery, but I doubt it would be as prevalent or as bad for the game as even the 'reformed' lottery.

    IIRC, the SI piece about the Verlander trade specifically mentions that he was basically waiting out the Cubs to waive his NTC until Houston swooped in out of nowhere.

    Even when Chatwood is good he's no fun to watch. There's very little more frustrating in sports than a pitcher who walks people at this volume.
