  1. Well, if Joe gets pregnant, we know what happened.
  2. Either the SuperCubs or Duke's reputation as the master jinxer after this game:
  3. It's a guy making his 4th start, the warning signs were all there. I've done it again
  4. It's a guy making his 4th start, the warning signs were all there.
  5. Rizzo slide was within the rules and it seems like he tried his best to make it not dangerous. Let's just hope Pittsburgh beans him in the butt and not high.
  6. I'm totally cool with them bringing this up for no good reason for the rest of time.
  7. That was a very cool add on inning. Let's steal this series.
  8. Think I saw the Cubs are hitting .153 with RISP over the last 15 games. I’m pretty sure they started that stretch well last in baseball with BA with RISP so it’s probsbly embarrassingly awful now Going on 4 years waiting for that to regress to the mean
  9. I would very much be fine if Maddon finishes his contract with the Cubs next year and then they move on to someone else. I was not of that opinion before this season but now I completely agree. It wouldn't remotely surprise me if that's what happened. I'm probably just projecting but I can't believe Theo and Jed have been happy with his frequent weird ass decisions
  10. That was the classic, if this idiot doesn’t walk 6+ guys a game and 2+ an inning he could be really good because he induces pretty much only soft contact and strikes guys out. The only reason he only induces soft contact is because he has no horsefeathering idea where he's throwing the ball, so neither does anyone else. If he stopped walking people he'd probably be Edwin Jackson.
  11. Why is this game blacked out on my MLB.TV when my station is airing the Yankees? They haven't blacked out all the FOX games in years.
  12. Yes, but conventional wisdom is that since the NBA tolerates and even encourages its players to speak out on topics that mean something to them, they're happier to play ball on that topic. And in any case I think that's an old rule, made before this stuff blew up, that could be changed.
  13. I won't believe a word of this until NoCode tells us it's a done deal.
  14. This RISP horsefeathers can start its regression to the mean any damn time now.
  15. damn i'm not even somewhat close to that not even brian schlitter hate levels Pitchers who can't throw a damn strike consistently have always bothered me far more than just about anything else in an athlete. It's also a little more magnified now that his suckiness is actually hurting us as opposed to just taking us up a level of crappiness like Jackson did.
  16. I think I'm starting to hate Chatwood as much as I hated Edwin Jackson, and that was a lot.
  17. Apparently some horsefeathers has decided to start chopping onions outside my office. The parents watching with their kids and people watching with their grandparents..........man, all the feels. I was watching the game by myself in my living room after my girlfriend went to bed and after the 8th inning debacle I got out the little laminated card from my grandfather's funeral with old Irish May the road rise to meet you proverb on it so he could watch the last couple innings with me if it happened. Biggest Cubs fan I've ever known. There's a picture on my Facebook, courtesy of my wife, of me squeezing my then 2 month old son and rocking back and forth, a complete blubbering crying mess. I still can't decide if it's a good or unfortunate thing she didn't take any video of my insanity in the 10th inning.
  18. I really don't remember much about that inning except I was just waiting for us to lose. And when Lindor hit that pop up I kind of knew we had just won, though of course I needed to see it actually happen.
  19. Quintana going for honesty points by just turning around and going back to the dugout rather than jogging to first
  20. Why other teams aren't just playing all 7 defenders to the right of second against Heyward is beyond me, but that was fun
  21. 6 or 7 more innings of that Quintana would be a welcome sight.
