  1. Down goes a Pac-12 game
  2. All 3 academies' games (Air Force/Army and Navy/Tulsa) are off. Outbreaks at Air Force and Navy. I would've thought the academies could at least avoid this to some extent but clearly that's not the case.
  3. WTF Wisconsin.

    NFL Week 8

They showed that graphic on RedZone the other day. Incredible statistic.
  5. Dropped 2 in a row (barring some sort of insanity tonight) after a 6-0 start and now I'm wondering what my playoff odds are looking like.
  6. And just to be clear, Arizona State/USC is not a typo, they are playing at noon ET, 9 a.m. Pacific.
  7. Pac-12 and MAC complete the party this week. 8. LSU is the first defending champ since 1991 to be under .500 five games into the season To be fair, usually defending champs have a few games vs Directional State U to begin their seasons. The way they're playing, Directional State U might take them out too
  9. Theoretically this should take Lawrence out of play for the ND game next Saturday, but Clemson hasn't officially ruled him out yet.
  10. Now that it looks like Kimbrel is good again, there's no on-field justification for this. And obviously no other kind of justification.
  11. We have our first B1G cancellation. Wisconsin/Nebraska is off.
  12. It wasn't quite the same, but I had Joe Maddon/Kyle Hendricks/David Ross flashbacks that whole inning. That was horsefeathering brutal managing by Cash. And as Verducci noted, he didn't even bring in a reliever that made sense for what he was doing.
  13. Ha, oddly enough I have Kyler and Herbert too (I just picked up Herbert a few weeks ago). I told my league I'm willing to listen to offers for Kyler (who's locked in at $12 for next year) to see if I can upgrade the rest of my lineup. I'm about to lose for the first time this season, though, in large part because I didn't start Gio Bernard over Jerick McKinnon yesterday - I'd grabbed Gio just to block other people from getting him and should've put him in. That was a dumb move on my end. I can still win today but it would take a pretty bad bed-crapping from Jared Goff.
  14. What was their alternative there? It was 4th and 19 from near midfield and 2 minutes left. Quick scouting report for Bears fans. Throw it deep against the Saints. They’ve had more blown zone coverage than any team in recent memory. Every freaking week. You have to go for it. Ideally, Bridgewater doesn't take a sack, but you have to go for it with that little time left. 4th and 19 is more likely to convert than the longest FG in the history of the NFL. Plus, a miss meant Saints get the ball 7 yards closer than a simple incompletion. I don't know. Slye has a cannon for a leg and didn't miss that by much. That's one of those where I don't know if I'd had an argument either way. That goes on Bridgewater (and the offensive line) more than anyone else. Carolina is clearly one of those teams that's just good enough to be a pain in the ass for just about anyone to play but not good enough to beat most of those teams. Tampa is the only loss of their four that wasn't really close - and on the flip side, Arizona is the only one of their wins that wasn't really close.
  15. 16. Indiana was pretty decent last year. Probably more like losing to Tennessee Tom Allen has done a good job there IU is legitimately pesky now. They seem to give Michigan a scare once every couple of years or so and beat most of the teams that are around their talent level.
  17. I am not in favor of rules that force teams to lower their chances of making an out on a ball in play.
  18. Dammit, really? It'll probably be back. Everyone is dropping the RSNs right now because other than the occasional college football game, they're literally not airing anything anyone would watch until at least January when the NBA is supposedly coming back.
  19. Houston's defense was playing like garbage - in no small part because Derrick Henry is an actual mutant - and as Crennel probably feared, the Texans never saw the ball again in that game. It was unequivocally the right call and I loved it.
  20. I read somewhere that MLB has rules against showing Zoom press conferences live (why, I have no idea, but it would explain why it wasn't aired live). As for the game-adjacent content, we have no idea what might have been planned pre-pandemic. I wasn't thrilled with most of the in-game stuff (Taylor McGregor spending multiple games showing off old memorabilia that no one cares about was pretty painful), but I imagine when we're post-pandemic, the coverage will improve.
  21. New Mexico/Colorado State is canceled with no plans to reschedule. First change of the week. Also, Washtenaw County in Michigan (where UM resides) is issuing a shelter-in-place order for 2 weeks on the UM campus but is exempting the Wolverines football team.
  22. Hi, B1G! (Mountain West too.) Top 25 games ------------------------------ Syracuse at (1) Clemson (12 pm, ACC Network) (2) Alabama at Tennessee (3:30 pm, CBS) (3) Notre Dame at Pittsburgh (3:30 pm, ABC) Nebraska at (5) Ohio State (12 pm, FOX) (17) Iowa State at (6) Oklahoma State (3:30 pm, FOX) (8) Penn State at Indiana (3:30 pm, FS1) (9) Cincinnati at (16) SMU (9 pm, ESPN2) Virginia at (11) Miami (8 pm, ACC Network) Texas State at (12) BYU (10:15 pm, ESPN) (23) NC State at (14) North Carolina (12 pm, ESPN) Illinois at (14) Wisconsin (8 pm Friday, BTN) (18) Michigan at (21) Minnesota (7:30 pm, ABC) (19) Virginia Tech at Wake Forest (3:30 pm, FSN) Kansas at (20) Kansas State (12 pm, FS1) Florida Atlantic at (22) Marshall (2:30 pm, FSN) Georgia Southern at (25) Coastal Carolina (12 pm, ESPNU) Other nationally available games --------------------------------------------------- Arkansas State at Appalachian State (7:30 pm Thursday, ESPN) Jacksonville State at Florida International (7 pm Friday, ESPN3) Tulsa at South Florida (7:30 pm Friday, ESPN) UL Lafayette at UAB (8 pm Friday, CBSSN) Oklahoma at TCU (12 pm, ABC) Rutgers at Michigan State (12 pm, BTN) Auburn at Ole Miss (12 pm, SEC Network) Florida State at Louisville (12 pm, FSN) Mercer at Army (12 pm, CBSSN) Southern Miss at Liberty (1 pm, ESPN3) Tulane at UCF (2 pm, ESPN2) Baylor at Texas (3:30 pm, ESPN) Iowa at Purdue (3:30 pm, BTN) Houston at Navy (3:30 pm, CBSSN) Middle Tennessee at Rice (3:30 pm, ESPN3) Georgia State at Troy (4 pm, ESPNU) Kentucky at Missouri (4 pm, SEC Network) Georgia Tech at Boston College (4 pm, ACC Network) Chattanooga at Western Kentucky (4 pm, ESPN3) West Virginia at Texas Tech (5:30 pm, ESPN2) South Carolina at LSU (7 pm, ESPN) Utah State at Boise State (7 pm, FS1) Wyoming at Nevada (7 pm, CBSSN) Maryland at Northwestern (7:30 pm, BTN) Louisiana Tech at UTSA (8 pm, ESPNU) Air Force at San Jose State (10:30 pm, FS1) UNLV at San Diego State (10:30 pm, CBSSN)
  23. Will Grier Normally, but he's inactive today. XFL legend PJ Walker is backup today. They've basically been rotating week to week.
  24. Various advanced statistical systems give Notre Dame about a 23-25% chance to beat Clemson on November 7, which is about 22.67-24.67% more than I do.
  25. I'd go Allen for sure. That's a layup. Allen has been a production monster and the Bills will need to score a ton just to keep up.
