  1. The Walker love might be because he's a guy who can hit .300, hit 15 homers, not strike out, and we have very few useful hitters like that. Edit: Might also be that our backup plan at that position is Neifi Perez.
  2. I think that it seems like the Big East has a big game every night.
  3. Excellent signing. The Cubs are probably the only team in the major leagues that need a "seventh starter" and now we have a pretty decent one in Miller.
  4. I believe Sammy didn't mean to use a corked bat. I also believe that andro helps you hit a hell of a lot more home runs than cork.
  5. Between NSBB and the Cubs we want to get rid of just about every good hitter on the team I guess.
  6. Trade Walker. Trade him now. Then we can be the first team in major league history to make fewer than 20 errors in a season. Of course, we'll still lose 90 games because we can't score a damn run.
  7. Rooting for the Steelers, but Seattle's really damn good. I pick them.
  8. I just realized something. In Carolina's two ugliest losses this season (Bears and today), Jake threw two 1st quarter INTs that directly resulted in 10 points for the opposition. Odd little stat quirk.
  9. Bettis is Number 5 all-time in rushing and is probably one of the most underrated players in history. I still gleefully recall his ridiculous game against Florida in the "Cheerios Bowl". I really hope he retires a champ. And the MAC fan in me also wants to see Roethlisberger get one. :)
  10. Congratulations Kat. I know you guys have waited for this for a long time. Good luck in the Super Bowl. Definitely got beat by the far better team today!
  11. Thanks for the sentiments, guys. Pitchers and catchers report February 18. 8)
  12. your NFL team is a whole heck of a lot closer than mine to winning a championship. Haha, true...I just hate to see a good season end so awfully.
  13. He signed a 5-year extension after 2003, so he's around for 3 more years.
  14. Sorry man, tough game. They'll be back next year. I'm not so sure. Their 2006 schedule looks like this: vs ATL @ATL vs TB @TB vs NO @NO vs DAL vs PHI @NYG @WAS vs CLE vs PIT @BAL @CIN vs STL @MIN Now I dunno about you, but I only consider 3 of those games to be layups, Cleveland and the Saints games. Every other game is going to be at least a little worrisome and at least 8 are going to be outright battles. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like 9-7 and no playoffs next season.
  15. Carolina's 3 best hits have resulted in 45 yards of penalties. That's the kind of game it's been and that's why I made the mid-game sig change.
  16. Yeah, he might have more INT's He's 2 for 3 for about 90 yards and a TD on those long passes, so I seriously doubt that.
  17. I root for the Eagles, Flyers, Sixers and Cubs. I was 5 when the Sixers won, I don't even like the NBA that much, and I don't even remember them winning that championship. I don't want to hear it from anyone who is a Bulls/Red Wings fan, I wish I had it so easy. I don't count the Red Wings in that - they won in 2002. I don't count them because while I like them, a Stanley Cup victory to me only qualifies as a small fist pump on the sports team scale.
  18. Is it in negative numbers yet? This is about the most ridiculously bad game ever played by a QB in the playoffs. Was he really at one time the greatest QB in postseason history rating-wise?
  19. Time to give credit to the Seahawks. Best game plan I've maybe ever seen by a coach. You guys were prepared for everything we could possibly do. Clearly not enough respect has been given to you. :( This is depressing.
  20. I don't think you can really say that. Jake Delhomme has been terrible today for many reasons other than the fact that Smith has been completely stopped. No protection, terrible throws, just an awful game. Plus you try to move the ball with Jamal Robertson as your RB.
  21. Seattle vs. Pittsburgh. Go Bettis.
  22. It's like watching hell. Actual hell. I've gone eight years since the last time my team won a championship - and it may never happen again.
  23. So much for the superstar treatment. Smith can't draw a flag.
  24. I don't think they've given up - they are just being physically destroyed. If you run on 3rd and 9 when you're down 20 late in the 3rd, you've given up. I don't care where on the field you are.
