  1. I have yet to watch Clemson this year so I know nothing. This is certainly not just bad QB play, is it? Yeah, something else must stink over there because even with a bad QB you'd expect a HELL of a lot more from a team that for the last 4 years had recruiting classes ranked 8th, 9th, 2nd, and 7th. I've said it before but their offensive lines have never been that good by CFB Death Machine standards. Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence could paper over it, but that doesn't work out every time. You're right though that there's got to be more to it than that.

    NFL Week 7

None of this matters because Tom Brady is either a robot or is eating HGH-fortified babies and he'll win the next 5 Super Bowls

  4. I've seen his name come up a few times. I don't see it as a fit for either side. Kelly does not have a reputation for being a tireless recruiter; it's practically a running joke in some quarters, fair or unfair, when Kelly is brought up as being a factor in bringing in a recruit because some fans think it's ridiculous that he's not more involved. (Worth noting that new DC Marcus Freeman, who coincidentally chose ND over LSU, almost immediately started targeting and getting ND in the door with guys of a caliber they weren't close to getting before.) Don't see how you can win in the SEC without living and breathing recruiting. On Kelly's side, he's worked with the same president and AD his entire time at ND and is in a very stable position. Not sure leaving for an athletic department that from the outside appears to be a giant mess, for a school that just fired someone barely 18 months after winning the national title, is an enticing sell, no matter their natural advantages.
  5. Group of 5 realignment news:
  6. Those jobs probably aren't significantly better than PSU, especially when you consider what an incoherent mess the programs have been for a while (LSU's all-time 'lightning in a bottle' title notwithstanding). But Franklin's name keeps getting floated, I assume, because Franklin wants his name floated.
  7. I've also been a bit surprised at this. Even if the Bulls as currently constructed aren't a true championship contender, what they were doing for the last 5 years clearly wasn't coming close to working either. Anyway I'm looking forward to actually sort of caring about them again.
  8. So this dude is gonna lose millions of dollars and abandon all the kids he recruited to play for him over a vaccine. What a halfwit. Reporting is that he didn't even say goodbye to his players, which makes perfect sense since he'd have been vaccinated months ago if he remotely gave a horsefeathers about any of them
  9. They already cut a bunch of teams, I'm not sure how much more they could realistically chop. (Not that they might not try.)
  10. That's what they should do - and they also should've done it last week instead of going to Georgia for the 2nd time in 3 episodes - but they're going to Oregon/UCLA.
  11. I really wish this was Halloween weekend instead of it falling on the jam-packed slate of games the week after

  13. Man, I'd love to be able to hire clowns like Orgeron and Chizik and win national titles anyway.
  14. Clemson's offensive lines have never really been all that great over the past few years (by comparison to their other position groups, at least) and this year they're even worse. That's probably the biggest reason. There's also some CFB media chatter that Dabo's absolute refusal to dip into the transfer portal for talent is hurting them, but that could just be anecdotal.
  15. He was also popping off postgame that the Astros hit Jose Abreu on purpose, without any real evidence that they did. He's such a damn clown and he reflects poorly on the entire organization.
  16. I had no particular affinity for the Rays, and their still trying to make Tampa/Montreal ExRays a thing really killed whatever chance there was I was going to root for them. Unlike UMFan, I'm all in on rooting for guys I watched and loved for years, so if it's SF vs Boston, great. I'm also fine with any of the other remaining teams besides Houston, to be honest. I guess Milwaukee would be 2nd to last on my rooting index, but I'm not passionate about it at all.
  17. I just got a kick out of him following the White Sox catcher tradition of horsefeathering with the umps and daring them to call him out in a playoff game, and with the guy who started that tradition calling the game, no less.
  18. I guess I shouldn't care that Darnold and Carolina puked all over themselves to lose to a bad Eagles team today because Tampa is basically the NFL version of last year's Alabama anyway
  19. One of my biggest pet peeves in football officiating these days is the thing where they have to pretend obvious incomplete passes are potentially fumbles on the one in a thousand chance that one of them actually is a fumble.

  21. In the AP Cincinnati is rated ahead of Oklahoma as they should be. PSU also stayed ahead of Michigan as voters likely gave them a mini pass for what happened after Clifford went out.
  22. There is not much worse in sports fan world than watching your team's chances in a big game go down in flames because the QB is just lost.
  23. What a horsefeathering insane day When I made a complaining post about ND you couldn't have ever convinced me that by the end of the day they would hold the longest winning streak against unranked teams in the country (they now have 36, Bama had 100).
  24. How Notre Dame, whose entire identity is built around the offensive line, ended up with maybe the worst line in the entire country, one that is awful at literally every horsefeathering possible thing an offensive line is tasked with doing, is a question. And on top of that, Kelly keeps running Jack "No Pocket Awareness of Any Kind" Coan out behind that line.
  25. Most teams still wear their colors at home right? Does that mean the Bulls are going to wear white almost every game? I like the white jerseys at home too but not at the expense of rarely wearing the red jerseys. I think there's been a fair bit of color vs. color in the Nikefied NBA, so I wouldn't necessarily expect white on the road just because the other team wears a colored jersey.
