  1. Yeah. Francis got progressively worse offensively as he went thru school. As a freshman, he looked like he would be a guy that would be in college for 3 years at best and become a lottery pick. He had size, strength, and athletic ability. Definitely a waste. Blame Brey. I don't (and I think I'm the only ND fan on here that doesn't). Brey isn't the greatest coach on Earth, but clearly Torin was never going to learn that you don't need to dribble the ball every damn time you get it. How he was still projected as a late 2nd round pick as of a month ago is completely over my head. I'd take Quinn, Carter, Cornett, McAlarney or Kurz off of this team before Francis. Hopefully we get an NIT bid just so I can see Quinn play one more time. I'll miss him.
  2. I want an explanation from the Sausage Slayer for that.
  3. What color does he think Kerry Wood looks best in?
  4. G'town 67, ND 63. The Hoyas hit every big shot including a ridiculous over-the-shoulder left-handed layin by Brandon Bowman. I'm so happy that Torin Francis won't be playing any more meaningful games in a Notre Dame uniform. What a waste of a strong 6'10" frame this guy turned out to be.
  5. 13) As of yet, we still don't have a reliever that has been labeled a gutless choking dog by an NSBB member.
  6. 52/4 years...gets more per year than Konerko but one less year total. Would that get it done? I think that would be plenty. If it isn't enough then we shouldn't do it.
  7. DLee will be hitting cleanup against Canada.
  8. Least surprising "revelation" that I've ever heard. Now the only question is how far will Barroid fall?
  9. My cousin is on the Stanford team, and I don't approve this post.
  10. Those two dunks, particularly the and-one, were fantastic. :D
  11. I've had an infected finger before. It always hurts, hurts even more if you use it or touch it to anything, and you have to needle it and stick it in epsom salts to make it better. It wasn't fun.
  12. How do you have an 11 man first team? That's ridiculous. When the conference expanded to 16 teams, they expanded the all-conference team. I don't really get it, either.
  13. Hope we have a dark blue alt or something. I hate gray.
  14. Oh my. I just remembered his brother is the pitching coach for the mid-market Brewers. I wonder if that won't be where he's going after this. Considering Milwaukee is to Maddux what the Generals were to the Globetrotters, I highly doubt this would happen. I'd also expect Maddux to want to play for a legitimate contender if he could.
  15. Damn. I was hoping we'd be completely overlooked by everyone coming into the season, as happened in 2003.
  16. I counted at least 3 shots made by LeBron with the shot clock under 4 that had no business going in, counting that one. Terrible game by the Bulls. Have I mentioned I'm sick of losing to Cleveland? The Bulls need to steal one back that they shouldn't get to make up for dropping both the Cavs games.
  17. Chris Quinn earns a very well-deserved spot on the (11-man) all-Big East first team. I hope someone gives him a look in the upcoming draft, because he's much more well-rounded than Matt Carroll was, and he's doing pretty well now with the Bobcats.
  18. We'd better win tonight. Bulls need a win, and I'm sick of losing to LeBron. 7:30 ET tip time on ESPN tonight.
  19. Have you ever been to NY during the BE tournament? Many of my friends have gone since the first one and never miss it. No, never been. It'd be awesome to go, though, especially to the first round 4-games-in-one-day event.
  20. Maybe with Wood and maybe Prior's 2004 injury. I don't think Prior's current condition or his being hit by a line-drive had anything to do with the 2003 work load. The sad thing is, I'd be perfectly willing to accept the crap we go through with Wood and Prior every year - if they'd closed it out in 2003. :(
  21. BSU at Buffalo tomorrow night in the first round of the MAC tourney. ND, as the 12th seed in the Big East, will play 5th-seed Georgetown on Wednesday at 2 p.m. (Thank you, South Florida. I really didn't want to play Marquette. And thank you, Rutgers. I didn't want to play Pitt either.)
  22. Then, in the next couple of weeks, there are hundreds of articles written about how the Cubs should trade the injury-prone Prior. Only half of these articles will actually mention the injury's cause, and those that do will stick it in at the very end.
  23. ND wins 66-61! We're goin' to New York, baby! BSU wins 89-77 to lock themselves in as the ninth seed in the MAC tourney, which begins on Monday.
  24. Speaking of which, Flames, I was wrong about DePaul being eliminated from Big East tourney contention. They can get in if they beat ND on Saturday (please don't) and Providence loses to Marquette on Saturday (likely). So they'd get in as the final seed and get humilated by UConn or Villanova. Great! The top 4 get byes. The 12th seed would play the 5 in the 1st round, and as that stands currently it would be Georgetown. Actually, I'd prefer that to playing Marquette, the 6, so I hope we don't succeed in passing Rutgers for the 11th spot, which we could do if we won and they lost their last game. I'm becoming more annoyed with Taquan Dean by the day. If he doesn't hit that buzzer-beating shot to send the game with ND to OT, the Irish are 10th instead of tied for 12th and are staring a game with Seton Hall down.
  25. Reminds me of when Peter Gammons picked Nomar to win the MVP last year, when there were 3 or 4 guys on the Cubs who had a better chance.
