  1. Solid. A better version of Othella Harrington. Very nice work once again by Pax.
  2. If Hendry doesn't fire someone tomorrow, the whole management team should be sent packing. He doesn't even necessarily have to fire Dusty right now. But he has to fire SOMEONE.
  3. I root for Z - because he's Z Lee - still hoping he'll pick it back up by season's end Barrett - having the best year of his life and shows some FIRE! and INTENSITY! (to borrow from cheapseats) Eyre - he's good Howry - he's good too Jones - strangely fun to watch and seems like a pretty nice guy despite some things that have happened this year Cedeno - young un Murton - young un and to a lesser extent Dempster, Marshall, Marmol, (insert young pitcher the Cubs have ignored here)
  4. It appears Todd knows he's gone. He probably already did. I'll miss him.
  5. The Bears defense simply will not be as good as last year. It would be ludicrous to expect that. And their offense is not better enough to make up for the fall off the defense will take. I think they will win the division off defense but I'd be shocked if they won more than 9 games.
  6. I think giving up 2 GS's and 11 runs in one inning on national TV followed by a fan revolt would qualify as semi-supernatural...if not unexpected.
  7. I vote Stones, only because I'm desperate to get Aerosmith out of this tournament.
  8. The Dodgers have won titles in two cities since the Cubs have played for one. Sad days indeed.
  9. To be fair, we have no idea how good Wood and Prior might have been if Dusty hadn't destroyed them in 2003 :x This man speaks for many of us
  10. So Dusty has COMPLETELY forgotten about the two weeks he spent up here in May???? Not surprising considering he gave him FOUR at-bats in that time! Unbelievable.
  11. You are correct, sir! An amazing turn around for Mr. Jon. He actually had quite a bit of faith in this group before the season if I remember correctly. Just for the record: I hate being right when I look at the Cubs in ST and think they are going to suck. I was much more excited for this season than 2005...oh well.
  12. That was quick...let's see how the kid responds.
  13. I thought there's no way the Sox don't win the division... I'm not a full fledged believer yet but I'm running out of reasons to doubt Detroit.
  14. DJaxx is still MIA... A Sunday Night Baseball matinee here. But I don't think the Cubs are capable of winning a non-Z start anymore.
  15. I don't understand the logistics behind it either, but it sure looks like a solid move for Indiana as they'd pick up a guy better than the one they're replacing for less money.
  16. Wow. 1 thing. He still thinks walks clog the bases, still has a huge man-crush on Neifi and will very likely make some dumb excuse for playing veterens in September. He already has one from last year: Maintaining the integrity of the postseason races
  17. Finished behind Yadier Molina in the voting. Yadier is at .244/.292/.343/.635
  18. Pujols probably came from the same planet that Zambrano did.
  19. SSR beat me to it
  20. I'd imagine Seattle was the one that ended that discussion
  21. Williams may have gotten butt lucky in a lot of ways last year, but you have to hand it to him here. Hendry would've already signed his three-year extension after last year's completely flukish performance.
  22. He played him one on one the entire game. Even after he burned them for a TD on one of the first plays of the game. Then Holmgren did what everyone else should've been doing - triple-teaming him and basically daring Carolina to throw to a banged-up Colbert and a joke Drew Carter - and the Panthers couldn't get anything going. That's why.
