ND can't be overrated because everyone is constantly talking about how overrated they are. They are the least taken-seriously top-15 team in the country including Boise State. I'm not sure how anyone can think there is any real respect for ND right now nationwide because there isn't.

Why? Do you really think the difference between USC/LSU and Michigan/Florida is so great that they would be unworthy of a championship even if they won a playoff(and in turn beat at least 3 top 10 teams)? Maybe, maybe not. But every other sport already has devalued the regular season to the point of near-irrelevance, especially in the NBA and NHL and pretty close to it in the NFL. Would OSU/Michigan have been nearly as exciting if both teams knew they would get a shot at the championship anyway via a playoff? Probably not. -
At least they'll still make the playoffs.* * - I think.

I didn't see a flag. I was saying it was interference, not that the idiots were going to make the call. Joe Theismann is full of crap, that was more than 5 yards downfield. Even if it's not PI it's contact.

The 14 GW drives stat surprised me. I can only think of one game that Delhomme has directly lost us in four years as a starter, and that was Miami last year when he threw a pick in a tie game in the 4th quarter and the Fish got the GW field goal at the other end.

Delhomme led 8 game-winning TD drives in 2003 in the 4th quarter or overtime. I wish I could be as confident that he'd come through this time.

I would like to apologize to John Kasay for saying we should get rid of him at so many points in 04 and 05. He's been unbelievable and probably has given us at least 2-3 more wins than we would if we had most kickers.

I lived in South Carolina when they first came into existence. Before they came around I was a 49ers fan (thanks to my mom, who rooted for them just because ND alum Joe Montana played for them). I gave up the Niners right after they won Super Bowl XXIX, so let no one ever think I'm a fair-weather fan. :wink: Jjg, Carolina was dominating the game defensively before Philly's final 1st-half drive. The Eagles had punted all 5 drives previously. 21-17.
