I'm in. I have been playing for 5 years now and have won 3 of my seasons. I like roto the best with playing the standard stats.

I think he is a great addition. I really hope he can help Izturis and DeRosa get on base more. The best tools they could both bring to the lineup would be the ability to get on base more. Especially DeRosa since he is projected to be the number two hitter right now.

If everyone is healthy. Marquis shoudl really have to show something this spring to get a spot in the rotation. However, after paying him that much money they're not goin to put him in long relief. That is a shame because I hope everyone can stay healthy this spring and make everyone earn their spots in the rotation.

Great News!!! It would be great to have 7 pitchers worthy of the rotation.

It's not the best thing ever, but hey if it brings on more money why not do it. I know it's the nostalgia and tradition, but so is losing and maybe this money will help end that tradition.

It makes sense if you think about it though. If he falls past 2 because of Adrian Peterson, a lot of the teams in the 3-9 ranges aren't looking to draft quarterbacks. Maybe Minnesota at 7, but from what I've heard, Cleveland won't be taking one, and neither will Tampa Bay. Arizona doesn't need one, and Washington isn't in the market for one apparently. They should. Seems like Quinn would be a good fit for the offense too. i thought campbell looked okay enough to get a shot next year. I think he was talking about Tampa drafting Quinn, not Washington. i think tampa is married to simms at this point, too. For reasons I can't understand. I've never been very impressed by Simms. Draft Quinn, let Simms mentor Brady next year and then start Quinn in 08. As a T.B. fan I hope we take either Calvin Johnson or the LT from Wisconsin (I can't remember his name) Our line is garbage right now and for the most part our whole team is. The D is old and starting to wear down. I think we need a playmaker like Johnson to go with Cadillac and give Simms a good target to throw the ball to.

Its not the trib per se that is saying that, the above quote is pure speculation by Dave van Dyck. The only quote from anyone in the Cubs organization in Mr. van Dyck's article reads... That quote is in response to what will the Cubs do with Floyd. And it is the standard response from any GM who wants to maximize a sense of competition amongst his players to motivate them to perform at their highest level. It is one of the benefits to having a proven veteran like Cliff Floyd on your roster/bench. The other presumed starters in the OF know that they better be on or they will lose playing time. I've got no problem with that. All of them are professionals and mentally tough enough to use Floyd's presence in the right way. And if they don't, then they are not playing or thinking like a champion. There are several leaps that van Dyck takes and several places in the article where his musings fail to hold up under logical scrutiny. I'd take this one with a several grains of salt. Could Floyd wind up starting in the Cubs OF for the majority of next season? Sure. But it is likely going to take a major injury or somebody really underperforming for that to happen. In which case, so long as Floyd performs well, we will all be grateful to have him in there. This whole article made me sick. None of this stuff better come true. Unless Floyd clearly outperforms Murt in ST there is no reason Murton should bot be given the job. I'm sick of hearing about this lineup balance crap to. Put the best hitters in the lineup regardless of which way they bat.
