    He may not have to. If the Cubs like what they see in ST, they could try and work out a deal with the Twins. It it comes down to that, hopefully we do a better job than the last time we were faced with this type of situation. IIRC, we ended up coughing up Eric Hinske to Billy Beane for a guy that ended up doing nothing for us. Didn't they trade Hinske for Cairo? I thought Bellhorn was involved in that somehow, or was that a different Rule 5 pick?

    That's realistic. I don't think we have what it would take to get Bedard unfortunately. And yes, I'd rather see Bedard here over Roberts. I hope the Reds don't get Bedard. That would really, really suck. That would mostly really really suck for Bedard. I think they will give up too much to get him should it happen. Why? It would be several steps up from Baltimore. His numbers would suffer a bit. GABP isn't that much more a hitter's park than Camden, but enough to make a difference, I think. He'd also be going from working with Leo Mazzone to Dusty Baker. Not exactly a good thing for a young pitcher with a history of injuries.

    okay not exactly but close enough Yeah, except that the idea of the Socratic method is to make the person your teaching feel like they're smarter than you and they're actually doing the teaching. What you're doing seems to come off as a pompus ass who is condecending to everyone else. That's not even close to the Socratic method.

    If you're getting your feed through a cable company that means you're watching a local Fox affiliate. They would control programming and can decided what programs Fox offers they want to broadcast. If they don't want to show the game they don't have to, although I can't imagine those reality shows repeats would generate more viewers than a baseball game. Call the affiliate and ask. Why the cable company didn't tell you this I have no clue.

    No, but I'm pretty sure I know where Aramis Ramirez, Kenny Lofton, and Nomar Garciapara are. And lest we forget a certain first baseman? You must be talking about Randall Simon, because Derek Lee wasn't a deadline deal.

    Marshall for Escobar? Then bring up either Guzman or Gallagher to start? I think I would like that. I'd hope we could enlarge the deal a bit. Marshall + Izturis + cash for Escobar and Reyes or Ascanio. You think Izturis could pull in Ascanio or Reyes? I like both (especially Reyes) but I really doubt Izzy would pull either of them. Throw in Jones, forget Reyes and add Saltalamacchia(spelling?) Why don't we demand they throw in Chuck James while we're at it. I'm sure Koyie Hill would more than make up the difference. :roll:

    Is Taggert still the manager of the Wild Things? I think that man has won more Frontier League division titles than anyone. I know he won almost ever year he was in Evansville. Why he's never gotten a chance to coach at a higher level I'll never know.

    waiting for proof He won a WS? So did Kenny Williams, technically. Would you gys all want him? If Walt was bringing the St. Louis coaching staff with him and Pujols, I'd like it. Since he wouldn't be, I can't take or leave him. He leans too much on scrapheap picking for my liking. Would he still lean to "scrapheap picking" if he had a decent payroll.

    Yes he is. I like him a lot. Most baseball fans have no clue who he is. If he played for the Yankees he would be in the All-Star game every year.Yeah he is much better than the guys playing first in Florida and San Diego Umm.... he is the guy playing first in San Diego.

    The Dodgers win in my view. I mean, at least the others show some shred of creativity. How much did that person get paid for coming up with "It's time for Dodger baseball?"
