  1. I agree with your assessment. If we get Randle El, draft a tight end such a Lewis, Fasano, or Pope, and then in the second and third rounds concentrate on CB and linebacker depth, I'd call it a great offseason.
  2. Is anyone else just assuming that the worst is gonna happen in the WBC? I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that playing for the Cubs is automatically going to play into Zambrano, Lee, or Barrett getting hurt. I really hope nothing happens, but I expect the worst.
  3. Alright, big game for the Bulls tonight. I hope they dont lay an egg.
  4. Hopefully Jones can cut his down. I think one of the most annoying things about this team is that they will hit the heck out of the ball against Roger Clemens or Josh Beckett or Roy Oswalt one day, then the very next day a Doug Davis or Chris Capuano will shut them down. It's extremely annoying.
  5. Oh yes it should have. We hadn't beaten Nebraska in 25 years prior to that game; they were ranked #10 (I think) in the nation at the time; we hadn't defeated a ranked team in 20 something years; and we didn't just beat Nebraska, we kicked the crap out of them. If ever there was a time to tear down goalposts, that was it. And I didn't take any real offense to your original comments about Mizzou fans. It's just friendly bashing of teams you don't like. I do it all the time. The timing could have been better, I guess, but it's not like a Cards fan making fun of a Cubs fan after Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS or anything. Agreed with the goalpost comment. I was a senior in high school, so I didn't get to take part in it, but if a situation like that, where Nebraska was highly ranked, national tv, and the fact that Mizzou hadn't beaten them in 25 years, isn't right to tear the goalposts down, I don't know when is. I would hope Alden would fire Snyder after the performance of this years team. The team has totally quit on them, and the fans quit on the team two years ago. Alden is a difficult situatioBn because of the revenue hes brought to Mizzou. Most fans I know do not like Alden, but they hate Quinny boy even more. I agree with the comment that Mizzou fans expectations are pretty ridiculous sometimes. I saw predictions for Mizzou to beat Texas in football. Just crazy. By the way Dalgreen, why do you hate Mizzou so much?
  6. Bret Boone came to my mind. Perhaps they upped the roids during contract years? Man, I just remember Boone going to the All Star game and flexing for an ESPN analyst. The ESPN guy asked him about how he got so big, and Boone simply said he worked hard in the offseason. What a fraud.
  7. Wasn't that the game where he gave up a grand slam to maybe J.D. Drew? If I remember correctly, the Cubs were down big and came back and won that game.
  8. Mark Cuban was on AM 1000 yesterday and mentioned a desire to buy the Cubs. He said something about wanting to take a shot with everyone on Waveland after every Cubs win That man is my hero. My thoughts exactly.
  9. We can now only hope that the baseball team doesn't pull a Mizzou and just suck.
  10. Well Mizzou sucks. Not a big surprise there. Down by 18 to Texas. Although I will say that Texas really hasn't impressed me that much. One step closer to bye-bye Quin Snyder. Thank God.
  11. I wish Mizzou could have a good class...
  12. Well, I'll be attending the game tonight. If things go well maybe I can put off homework for the entire game. I am honestly just hoping that Mizzou Arena can get loud a couple of times. When Tucker was a freshman, he played down at the Hearnes Center, and he said that was the craziest atmosphere hes been to for a game. Hopefully we can just reinforce that comment tonight. That being said: Texas 82 Mizzou 61 Fire Quin!
  13. The Kerry Wood home run is my favorite. I'll never forget how Len Kasper said he's never heard a louder stadium than when Wood hit his home run. Bittersweet memories, very bittersweet.
  14. I was so crushed after game 6. Ill never forget going to home room in high school as a senior and just putting my head down and not talking to anyone. There was like 6 die hard Cub fans in my class, and I don't think there was ever a more depressing day throughout high school.
  15. Goodbye Snyder, your time here was nothing but a downward slope, and I look forward for Missouri having a new coach who knows how to coach and develop a basketball team.
  16. Man, I wish Mizzou could get in on the big time recruiting action...
  17. What'd I say? You should take it easy, man. It's funny that you would actually go out of your way to find a Dunn trade reference and comment on it. Just chill out, let people dream. By the way, I love the Tobias quote.
  18. Agreed on the Haluska situation. Ive always hated Iowa basketball, and it just seems to have elevated with the Pierre Pierce situation. Now this moron makes a comment like that, and for some reason it really makes me angry.
  19. Big game for Mizzou tonight against KSU. Laugh if you must, but 4-1 in the conference would be unbelievable for this team. That said, I predict KSU wins by probably 10.
  20. By the way, I hate Lee Melchioni (sp) more than any other college basketball player.
  21. As the other Mizzou fan mentioned (I dont know the exact name, Im used to the other one, the students rushed the court only because of the dramatic way in which Mizzou came back and won. And, there is such a heated rivalry, that beating them like that just overwhelmed a lot of people. I dont think we would have had Mizzou just beaten kU in a non dramatic fashion.
  22. I am a huge Dee Brown fan, always have, even though Im a Mizzou student and fan. And even though he won all those awards last year, its mostly because hes the most marketable. I think Luther Head was easily the most valuable player from last years team. Deron Williams was a close second, and Dee third. The Illini look to be in serious trouble until Gordon and possibly Rose arive at U of I.
  23. I was at the Mizzou game last night. I've never heard a building louder than when Moody was shooting his second free throw. I couldnt hear myself yelling, and I was shouting as loud as I could. By the way, I hope you Illini fans enjoy this year, because next year is gonna be rough, and if you don't believe me, then just watch when Dee is on fire and leading the team and when he's missing shots.
  24. My thoughts on the game: -I dont dislike anyone on the Panthers except for Jake Delhomme. When I saw him cussing at our fans when they won the game, it made my happy that Tommy Harris jumped over the pile and drilled him on the kneel down. He is now up there at the top of my list of quarterbacks I want to just get drilled. Otherwise, I hope the Panthers win the Superbowl. -Steve Smith single handedly won this game for the Panthers. If I had been told that the Bears would score 21 points, give up only one sack and one turnover, I would have predicted win. -I dont understand how the Bears would not cover Smith with Vasher plus safety help over the top. Even if the Bears were in a zone, their primary target should have been Smith. And I cannot give Delhomme too much credit for throwing for 100 of his yards to wide open receiver in Smith. I give Smith all the credit in the world though. -This team will be a force to be reckoned with next season. With a healthy Grossman, Berrian, and the entire D returning, I look for this team to be a contender next season. Good game to the Panthers and good luck to everyone but Jake Delhomme. I hope he gets knocked out and the backup QB leads the Panthers to the Superbowl win.
  25. If I were him I'd run like hell away from this sorry franchise and never look back. Hendry NEEDS to have a one-on-one sitdown with him and smooth things over. Now. Agreed. Although he does technically have three years to smooth things out? Man this franchise just keeps going down and down. It's really sad to see.
