  1. So then whats the next move, outfield wise, if we do indeed trade for Bradley?
  2. Can Bradley play right field? Cause if he can't, what are we gonna do for rightfield?
  3. Wow, this offseason is really becomming frustrating. I want some news.
  4. I really am hoping for something. As previously stated, Milton Bradley tonight would be nice.
  5. Well, with Pierre in center, our rightfielder better be Milton Bradley or someone good, and our SS better be someone like Lugo.
  6. The Favre, the? I've watched that hit at least 50 times already. Hahaha, yeah I've gotten the Favre, the comment a few times already. I personally dont know which hit I liked better, the Tillman hit in the back, or the Mike Brown hit from the front; both were equally awesome. I really cant remember the last time I've ever seen Favre getting destroyed like that. Good win, now lets go beat the Steelers.
  7. Well, Jayson Stark said the Cubs are very active right now. Good that Hendry is at least active. Now grow a pair and DO SOMETHING GOOD Hendry.
  8. As much as I dislike Kruk, and I really think he is one of the biggest morons at ESPN, he did just scare the crap out of me be making me realize that if the season started today, we'd have Murton, Patterson, and who knows what in right field. The more that Hendry just sits on his hands, the more worried I get. Please Hendry, DO SOMETHING, preferably that will HELP the Cubs.
  9. Does Steve Phillips, or anyone for that matter at ESPN, actually research what theyre talking about. What the hell does Prior have injury wise that is existing? If the Cubs trade Prior, by the way, I'm done with this team.
  10. They did bench Mike Green at the beginning of the year for Chris Harris, so Lovie and his staff are not stubborn. Im not sure why everyone loves Grossman so much, although between Orton and Grossman, Rex is the obvious choice. Anyways, a few very late comments on Sundays game. 1. When Charles Tillman absolutely annihilated Favre in the back, my friend turned to me and said, "I've waited ten years for that hit on Favre." I got a kick out of that. 2. A buddy of mine went to the game, and although it's probably poor taste, he said he saw a sign that read DIE FAVRE DIE! The kid isnt serious about wanting Favre to die obviously, but I thought it was kinda funny.
  11. Couldn't the Cubs just go: Wilkerson CF Walker 2B Lee 1B Ramirez 3B Bradley RF Murton LF Barrett C Cedano SS Pitcher I think I would like that lineup.
  12. Well, in my opinion, he would be a great five hitter for this lineup. Of course, thats assuming Hendry is not gonna get Manny or Abreu or any big time player. I would love Bradley and then move on to other pieces.
  13. My goodness, if it only takes Williams and perhaps Hill and another prospect, Hendry needs to do that now and move to another position he needs.
  14. Well, Hendry better do something soon. The market is heating up, and I'm getting very impatient.
  15. Depends on how creative he can get. The two names that jump out of course, given our needs, are Manny and Abreu. Honestly--were I Hendry, I'd sell the farm for Abreu. If you overpay, so be it, you need this guy to fill your biggest hole. If you trade three top prospects, the odds are only one of the three will actually pan out, based on past experience. So offer Gillick a threesome of Pie, Hill and Jerome Williams first thing Monday morning and take your chances. Maybe he bites if he was seriously considering just Erik Bedard for Abreu. If Pie turns out to be the real deal, Pie for Abreu isn't an awful swap, given Abreu's talent and our specific, IMMEDIATE needs. Short of the monster deal, there are a few names on the list that would interest me as improving the team. I like Javier Vazquez and Zito. Shawn Green and Raul Ibanez would be OF options for us. Milton Bradley, Jason Michaels and Juan Pierre as previously discussed at length. Wilkerson, Kearns, Brady Clark? I do think at this point Ronny Cedeno/Neifi Perez is your SS though, that is now set. I couldn't agree with you more. If youre trying to get the fans back on your side, even if it is unfair with the Furcal signing, I think trading for someone like Abreu is a must. It would not only make the fans happy, but restore our trust in Hendry.
  16. Man, I have no clue what Hendry has planned for right now. I do agree with Vance though. Why the Cubs did not get involved in trying to get Castillo is a huge mystery to me. He was probably one of my top interests for this offseason. I really don't know what we're gonna do now though. Anyone know Hendrys plan B?
  17. In my opinion, Hendry has lost faith of a lot of fans with this signing. I think he probably realizes this, and is going to try to do something to regain the fans trust. Thats just my opinion, but if he's smart, he will try to do something big to get everyone back on his side. I know I would, at least.
  18. So what does everyone think could save the Cubs season for next year. I would think Abreu, maybe Bradley, some impact middle infielder would get me excited. What does everyone else think?
  19. Do you honestly feel that we should have paid 13 million or more per year for Furcal? I understand we havent won in forever and we have a huge payroll but we would definitely regret that signing in the future. I hope Hendry can land a big impact RF and I have faith that he will. If he doesn't then you can cry, but dont blame Hendry for not grossly overpaying for Furcal. I know I'm overreacting, but I'm just really frustrated with this franchise right now. I really cannot see Hendry doing anything that will make me believe this team will compete for a championship this season, and that is just really depressing for me right now.
  20. Well, at this point I have no reason to believe Hendry will do anything positive.
  21. I have absolutely no faith that Jim Hendry can put together a winning ball club anymore. I for one really wanted Furcal, and it is a huge blow that he is signing with the Dodgers, maybe its because I'm not in the right state of mind right now, but I really don't know what Hendry can do now that will 1). restore my faith in Hendry and 2). give me hope that this team can do anything. I don't see this team winning the World Series any time soon, and I don't even see this team making the playoffs. Thank God the Bears are good, I don't know how much longer I can take this team. I really feeling like just crying right now.
  22. Anyone know why Hinrich isnt playing at all? He's not injured, is he? Alright nevermind, hes back in.
  23. So are we all just assuming that Furcal will not sign with us now?
