  1. In other news, Tigerboard is just outta control right now. People are just frantic and depressed. I'm gonna hope that Alden makes the right decision in this. Being relatively new to Mizzou (fan for basically three years), I don't know much about Alden, other than the Mizzou fans generally hate him.
  2. My reasons are 1. I've always pretty much hated Alford. Maybe its arrogance or just the way he seem son tv, I've never liked him. 2. the way he handled the Pierre Pierce situation really made me dislike him as a person. Sure Mizzou has probably done stupid crap like that too, but to make an exception for Pierce made me angry. 3. There has got to be better coaches out there for the taking. Alford's resume to me is not impressive. First round losses in the NCAA tournament just aren't really exciting. 4. There's got to be better recruiting coaches out there. 5. Alden willl have passed over or just received no thanks replies from other coaches. If Alford is the best Alden can do, he should be fired. I hope if Mizzou hires Alford, K-State hires Huggins and he continually beats down Mizzou. 6. I'm an Illinois fan first, and I think most Iowa fans know that Illinois and Iowa fans don't get along very well. That probably has some to do with my disliking of Alford, as well. I know the Mizzou job isn't all that attractive right now, but I think Mizzou is still selling itself short if they hire him. Good facilities, brand new basketball arena, a fanbase DYING to be good. Come on Alden, make the right choice.
  3. What is your list of coaches that you want at Mizzou? Anderson, Hobbs, Beilein, and Majerus would all be good hires IMO. Apparently Huggins is the hot name around, but I'm not a big fan. Dixon from Pitt has come up and would be a great hire, but I'm not convinced that his low salary(the only reason he'd leave Pitt) is enough for him to come to a situation like Mizzou. Heard the UNFORTUNATE rumors about Mizzou interviewing Steve Alford. If they hire him, I'm not going to another Mizzou basketball game in my two years left here.
  4. What is your list of coaches that you want at Mizzou?
  5. Yes Wood quite stubbornly refuses to make changes, because Steve Stone says it is so. How does anyone know what Wood has or hasn't done, or even if someone has attempted to "change his mechanics"? I shouldn't have worded it like that because I didn't mean to call Wood stubborn. I meant that hopefully Rotschild can figure out a way to keep Wood healthy if that means changing something in his delivery. I realize what I originally posted made it sound bad but I really didn't mean it like that. Sorry for the confusion.
  6. Well, hopefully the adjustment is for the best for Prior. If only he could get Wood to change if it would help him stay healthy.
  7. Just crap. A bunch of crap. Illinois lost to Washington and the refs. Perhaps out east Washington can show us how they really play basketball.
  8. Come on Illinois. Send this to overtime. I want to see more of Dee Brown and James Augustine in orange and blue.
  9. This is one of the worst officiating games I've ever seen. Just a joke that Dee Brown goes out like this.
  10. Shades of the Arizona Elite Eight game in 2001.
  11. I don't get the game here, but are the refs as whistle happy as they seem on gamecenter? It's freaking horrendous officiating. Just terrible.
  12. Well that was two really stupid possessions at the end of regulation there.
  13. Unreal. Come on BC.
  14. WOOOOO first day of the tournament! One of my favorite sports days of the year!
  15. Let's go Korea. I have a bad feeling about this game though.
  16. Hopefully Lee is okay. If only they had already figured a way to just switch shoulders and get the same production, Derrek Lee could have mine.
  17. I'd stay away from Keyshawn. I've never really been a fan of his. I don't really know who's left that the Bears could go after besides the draft. Even with no free agent signings, I have all the faith in the world in this team that they will be a contender next year, anyways.
  18. I wish the Cubs did not have such a strangle hold on me as well. It only ends up hurting in the end. Its tough being a Cub fan.
  19. Out of all the players, Lee could possibly be the one who gets hurt. Why am I not surprised.
  20. So am I. But that includes Memphis, and that's why I picked Raisin's Bruins to go to the title game. That could be the most difficult region to pick, because there is no dominant team.
  21. Hopefully when Illinois lands a great 2007 recruiting class and they play together for two years. Even though that UNC game sucks (mostly because I think Illinois played really bad in the first half), that Arizona game is still one of my favorite all time memories of college basketball.
  22. I really had no major problem with giving Teixeira a chance today and give Lee a rest. As long as Lee plays against Mexico, its fine by me.
  23. I really haven't watched Teixeira play much. Is he doing anything different in his at bats or is he just going through a slump right now?
  24. UGH. We better have a strong performance against Mexico on Thursday.
