  1. I was just trying to think of how many years its going to take to rebuild this program. 3,4,5? It depends on the hire. They really need an obsessive recruiter because Willingham has utterly failed to get good classes. But it's not like it's a bad job. The support and history is there. You're centered in a populous city in a popuous state where the other Big State U is hundreds of miles away and blocked by a huge mountain range from the coastal fertile football grounds.
  2. USC is up 42-0 over Washington with a couple minutes left in the first half. Tyrone Willingham has laid waste to a once proud program. He was such an uninspired hire to begin with and Washington needs to make a ballsy hire. Willingham should never be a head coach for big time college football ever again. He is unfathomably bad.
  3. I don't see why Cincinnatti, Seton Hall, Providence, DePaul, St. John's, USF, or Rutgers contributes much more depth than the bottom half in other conferences. Even Cuse has been fairly mediocre lately. The Big East's scheduling is so unbalanced that you're going to have several teams with great records and several teams with truly putrid records. In other leagues you get more teams clustered around the .500 mark because everyone plays almost everyone else twice.
  4. Shouldn't sample size work both ways when the Big East has 16 freakin teams? I'm not exactly impressed by a large amount of ranked teams when you dwarf every other conference in size.
  5. I suspect Ariza will take a lot of Vlad Rad's minutes if he can be even an adequate shooter. He's a real difference maker out there.
  6. Harrington would be attractive for salary reasons with that monster FA class.
  7. I don't see what Al Harrington accomplishes for this team. Even if get rid of our glut in the backcourt we create another one by adding another tweener forward to the mix. Harrington is a gunner, contributes nothing defensively, and has no real position outside of the Nellie-ball system. 5.0 3P attempts a game!
  8. He's playing for a ton of coin this season.
  9. I'm pretty surprised Mbah Moute is getting as much run as he is for the Bucks. I didn't think his skill set would translate very well to the NBA at all.
  10. None of our guards are going to get more than 30 minutes in this game... So why is Hughes going to get significant minutes again?
  11. Thabo? I know everyone's pretty down on Kirk, but didn't Thabo have a bad preseason as well?
  12. Lol at Briscoe. Danced right out of a first down.
  13. Tennessee's offense is laughably incompetent.
  14. This UT punt returner is going to muff one if he keeps catching it high on his chest.
  15. I don't know, some of those triple option and wing-T quarterbacks were pretty awesome. That's what I mean. John Parker Wilson isn't a good quarterback because he all of a sudden holds the career passing marks at Alabama. The game is just so much different with regards to the passing game. For example, Brady Quinn was the first QB to throw for 3,000 yards at ND and they've had a ton of great signal callers. JP Wilson is a better QB then you are giving him credit for. I'm not saying he's a great QB by any means, but he is solid college QB who you can win with provided you don't ask him to do more then he's capable of (think of him as a college version of Trent Dilfer). You still have to have some talent---regardless of the system used---to set some records at a school as rich as Alabama. To diminished that because of the "evolution" of a game is ridiculous. Does this mean we can diminish what Tim Tebow did last yr or what Colt McCoy have done? You can't have it both ways. It's not ridiculous at all. Teams simply throw a lot more than they used to. Alabama has had good quarterbacks but none have put up gaudy passing statistics. Wilson is mediocre and him holding all the records doesn't mean he's not.
  16. Pryor really does look like a Vince Young clone, right down to the goofy throwing motion.
  17. Even dumber to not fair catch that.
  18. Dumb playcall.

  20. Mike Patrick just said it says something that Wilson holds most of the passing records at Bama considering the quarterbacks that have played there. Yeah, it says volumes about the evolution of the game. Isn't he breaking the immortal Andrew Zow's records?
  21. Hoping for a John Parker Wilson meltdown in Knoxville tonight. Go Vols, Go Bucks!
  22. God RedFlash, LSU-UGA is 52-38 Do they even know what defense is in the SEC????
  23. Just goes to show you how bad the ACC is. Dukie did beat Vandy!
  24. As a USC fan, I'm going to need ND and Virginia to keep it up and help out our computer rankings. I can't believe UVA is in the mix for the ACC title. They looked Washington State level awful the first few weeks of the season.
