  1. USC Florida would get the best ratings so that should be the title game :D
  2. Texas has very average linebackers.
  3. Can you say blown coverage?
  4. I wonder if that sack takes them out of FG range for their walk on kicker.
  5. I thought there was contact as the receiver was coming out of his break and prior to the tip. Whatever, it's moot now.
  6. I know. I'm just saying that illegal contact could be called instead (not that they could change the initial PI call to that based on the replay) of PI. Is that correct?
  7. It can stlil be illegal contact if the ball is tipped can't it?
  8. Wonderful tackling there.
  9. That was pretty awful there by McCoy.
  10. ABC is going to show one replay of the punt return? Really?
  11. Wow. I can't believe they picked the flag up!
  12. What a grab.
  13. It'd be huge if UT could put a TD on the board here.
  14. I seem to recall OU putting up 80+ over Texas A&M a few years ago.
  15. Texas has zero balance offensively and TTU is eating them up.
  16. Well it does leave open the question of what to do when teams don't make it into field goal range. Making midfield automatic 4 down territory would be pretty arbitrary and a distortion of the game. Not that the current overtime isn't already a distortion.
  17. I think college overtime would be improved by starting it at midfield as opposed to the 25 yard line. It's less of a kicking contest, scores wouldn't be artificially inflated by lots of OTs, and it leaves open more parts of the playbook. But that loss is definitely not on the ND kicker. The Irish offense just sucked in the 2nd half. So much for "schematic advantages"
  18. That punt is the best play Texas has made all night.
  19. LOL, UW "returns" a kickoff to the 2 yard line. The catch was not muffed in anyway.
  20. What a deep ball by Harrell.
  21. Only four spots for 120 teams. Honestly, 90% of the time the #1 ranked team is not the best team in football. However, most of the time the best team in football is ranked in the top 4. Your math is fuzzy--USC is ranked #1 more than 10 percent of the time.
  22. You're right. I'm not saying UF should be in the title game. I am not saying merit and quality are the same thing. It's the same way in baseball. It doesn't stop us from saying a team with a worse win loss record in baseball is better than another one. The current system is merit based...for two teams. It should be merit based. The real problem with the system is the only two spots in the title game. It should be two more. The current system is what it is though. What really sucks is that Big Ten and Pac 10 teams don't play title games. It hurt them sometimes, it helps them sometimes. When they're undefeated, it helps them because they don't have to play a title game. When they have a loss, it hurts them because they don't have a chance to impress the voters with a big game at the end. It always causes them to have relatively weak schedules though - even in years when the Pac 10 or Big Ten are the top leagues in the country. Really, I think a +1 system is inevitable. A +1 system will inevitably lead to a team that clearly isn't on the same level as the #1 ranked team winning the national title. Then everyone will whine that this team even had a chance and how the regular season means nothing. Then we'll get to a tournament and college football won't be as popular anymore. I've never understood why a playoff renders the regular season meaningless. Most losses for most teams at most points in the season would still be fairly devastating for natonal championship hopes. Even in an 8 team field you're looking at most 2 loss teams on the outside looking in.
  23. Catch. The. Ball.
  24. UT's front four is getting to Harrell.
  25. Wow, the offensive line splits for TTU are huge.
