  1. That's not the SEC's fault. Put that on NCAA, and don't blame the SEC for owning the Pac 10. 6-9 over the last 10 years is "owning" ? Edit: And what does the NCAA have to do with where bowl games take place? It has 100% to do with the bowls taking place in January and wanting fans to travel to good climates.

  3. I don't think anyone is out there disrespecting the SEC. It's the chest-puffing the SEC fans do as if any other team that makes noise in the title picture isn't worthy because they don't "play an SEC schedule." Trust me, I've heard it a lot over the years because I'm a USC fan (not that I'm complaining about the success Pete has had!). In fact I've never said that the SEC WASN'T the best conference, but it shouldn't undermine other teams accomplishments when you factor in OOC schedules.
  4. Take comfort that Mullen and Urban can't carry Norm Chow's jockstrap. He is the Yoda of college football.
  5. I just can't believe that an SEC POWER could have lost to a LOWLY Pac-10 team. I mean if there were any justice in college football the BCS would just be the top 10 teams in the SEC standings playing each other. Because no other conference can match SEC SPEED.
  6. SEC DOMINATION
  7. The "you must squib/pooch on the final kickoff of the game" obsession is just like the overuse of the sac bunt in baseball. You CAN'T give up that field position when all they need is one or two completions to get in field goal range.
  8. Price and Harwell are impressive.
  9. These are classic 2nd half Norm Chow adjustments. He is the MASTER at them.
  10. I remember last year when UT lost to Cal and the SEC mouthbreathers couldn't stop talking about how "Cal was the 2nd best team in the conference and UT wasn't really that good" and UT ended up making the SEC title game and Cal finished 8th in the Pac-10. Except this time UCLA actually is one of the worst teams in the conference and is playing their 3rd string QB.
  11. Yeah, Craft is just awful. The brain trust hasn't made good decisions but you have to at least trust your quarterback not to make THOSE throws.
  12. Nice tackling Illinois.
  13. Jeremy Maclin is good.
  14. Nate Longshore is keeping Michigan State in the game.
  15. we were supposed to play middle tennessee, but the backed out. i guess chattanooga's AD is a friend of our AD, so we gave them 500 grand to come be a patsy at the last minute. They said their entire sports budget is 10 mil, so that's a fair chunk of change. we pulled the first teamers early in the second quarter Is the fact that it's a replacement game for Middle Tennessee supposed to make it better? Middle Tennessee is probably better than well over half the opponents of Top 25 teams today. That's not saying much. Just look at most of the cupcakes on the top 25 schedules. The added 12th game is a huge farce.

  17. I missed Bob Davie's "footbaw" pronunciation.
  18. Maybe being "very coachable" isn't such a good thing when Ron Zook is the coach in question.
  19. Juice Williams update: Still horribly inaccurate. It's hard to tell that he worked out with Donovan McNabb because he's overthrowing receivers, not throwing it into the dirt at the receivers' feet.
  20. Am I remembering incorreclty or didn't Cedeno have 20+ RBIs way back in May? He's only at 25 still?
  21. Do do do dooooo Do do do do doooo http://farm1.static.flickr.com/206/510999823_23796e531c_o.gif
  22. ESPN always likes one idiot on their studio panel to say stupid stuff. Holtz is the John Kruk of College Gameday Most of the people on NSBB know of my irrational hatred for ND. It's a deep hate, it's a good hate. It gives me no pleasure to say that Holtz is probably closer to the truth. They play the Big 10 teams but each of those teams are not good. Their toughest game outside of USC is Pitt and Pitt is coached by Wannstedt. I could see them winning 9, 10, or 11 games with a little luck. Then they'll play in a big bowl and get exposed like they always do. Long Live the Genius! I think I speak for most ND fans that I would gladly take the bowl-game disembowelment if it meant being good enough to make a BCS game this year. This is hopefully the last time I say that. FWIW, my BCS predictions: Rose: OSU/Arizona State Fiesta: Georgia/South Florida Sugar: LSU/Missouri Orange: Clemson/BYU National Championship: Oklahoma/USC As an 'SC alum I'll gladly take the Oklahoma/USC rematch in the Orange Bowl =P
  23. God, I cannot wait for channel flipping between N.C. State/(Fake) USC and Cubs/Phils and then Oregon St./Stanford! College football was gone far too long.
  24. Don't you know that "Cubs Nation" is really full of self-loathing "lovable losers" who really want the Cubs to blow it in the most heart breaking fashion possible because if they ever won we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves?
