  1. Yes, Bob Sanders "would be nothing" without helmet leading tackles. Same with Ronnie Lott, Mark Carrier, and Jack Tatum--only good because they could hit hard.
  2. There are few DBs who are going to stop Manning and his weapons when he has all day to throw.
  3. Peyton Manning is way too good, unfortunately.
  4. Forte has show more vision and quickness hitting the hole in one quarter than Benson did in his entire career.
  5. Forte looks great. I'm liking the looks our front 7 is giving them with the new center having to make the line calls.
  6. The fact that he tripped is irrelevant considering he wasn't even down yet.
  7. pwn3d That hit won't annoy him much when he finishes with 21 strikeouts.
  8. Anyone know anything about this guy? I'd trust Gruden on offensive linemen. Hopefully he can help--god knows we need it.
  9. not even close. Obviously Hawkins blowing it against the Mets in 04 is worse. I'm sure there are a handful of others. But the immediacy of this one is really, really annoying me.
  10. Worst regular season loss since the Brant Brown game if this holds up. (Well, probably not but I am pissed off.)
  11. Shouldn't Lee have made that a bit closer at 1st base? He didn't seem to be running especially hard.
  12. Why is he so late on average fastballs?
  13. I've been annoyed because the bats have been quiet over the last few days. This is a nice thread to remind me that the team has built up a good amount of goodwill over the entire year. They'll get it goether. (Just start winning!)
  14. That's not the SEC's fault. Put that on NCAA, and don't blame the SEC for owning the Pac 10. 6-9 over the last 10 years is "owning" ? Edit: And what does the NCAA have to do with where bowl games take place? It has 100% to do with the bowls taking place in January and wanting fans to travel to good climates.
  15. That's not the SEC's fault. Put that on NCAA, and don't blame the SEC for owning the Pac 10. 6-9 over the last 10 years is "owning" ?
  16. I don't think anyone is out there disrespecting the SEC. It's the chest-puffing the SEC fans do as if any other team that makes noise in the title picture isn't worthy because they don't "play an SEC schedule." Trust me, I've heard it a lot over the years because I'm a USC fan (not that I'm complaining about the success Pete has had!). In fact I've never said that the SEC WASN'T the best conference, but it shouldn't undermine other teams accomplishments when you factor in OOC schedules.
  17. Take comfort that Mullen and Urban can't carry Norm Chow's jockstrap. He is the Yoda of college football.
  18. I just can't believe that an SEC POWER could have lost to a LOWLY Pac-10 team. I mean if there were any justice in college football the BCS would just be the top 10 teams in the SEC standings playing each other. Because no other conference can match SEC SPEED.
  19. SEC DOMINATION
  20. The "you must squib/pooch on the final kickoff of the game" obsession is just like the overuse of the sac bunt in baseball. You CAN'T give up that field position when all they need is one or two completions to get in field goal range.
  21. Price and Harwell are impressive.
  22. These are classic 2nd half Norm Chow adjustments. He is the MASTER at them.
  23. I remember last year when UT lost to Cal and the SEC mouthbreathers couldn't stop talking about how "Cal was the 2nd best team in the conference and UT wasn't really that good" and UT ended up making the SEC title game and Cal finished 8th in the Pac-10. Except this time UCLA actually is one of the worst teams in the conference and is playing their 3rd string QB.
