Yes, there are fatties there but I translate rednecks to people that live in Kentucky and further south. rednecks aren't just from the south. in colorado and washington state, they're known as mountain people. in the midwest, the closer you are to the UP, the closer you are to being a simpleton. My relatives all live in the exurbs or Chicago and they're the dumbest, most parochial people I know.
