Edit: NVM. I thought you were talking about a ranking of Geiger. Just realized you were talking about this being his 8th homer. Haha. I guess we need to take the wait and see on him, to see if this is progress or just an insane streak. I think just about all of our top 8's, in some order, will be Baez, Soler, Almora, Brett, Candelario, Vitters, Szczur, and Lake.
Ok, better question possibly: Name some arms from the Red Sox, Jays, Royals, Cards, Tigers, Braves, Dodgers, Yanks, Rangers, and Orioles you could be happy with as a 1st or very good 2nd piece, that you feel is realistic.
Honestly, I think that's a tad too "pie in the sky", so I've got Kalish substituted for Bradley. Do you like Kalish? Granted, it appears I'm way higher than you are on Barnes, so I understand if this isn't a package that wows you.
Thanks Raisin. By the way, Daury Torrez(just turned 19), 6'3, went 7, 3 hits and 4K's. Pretty sure this is his second season of DSL ball(too lazy to go back and relook). But with him, Paulino, and Rodriguez, we've got 3 pitchers to keep an eye on.
Just curious since I was born in '84 so I don't know how bad that was. Was it as bad as '03? I was in college and I remember after the whole Bartman/A Gonz fiasco, my dorm basically turned into a riot. Kids were throwing stuff out the window or into the hallway and I'm pretty sure I've never heard so much cussing as I did that night. For those who lived through both, which was worse? '84 or 2003? I was 9, in 84, so I got over that pretty easy. 2003 was awful. That gets my vote, but you probably need to gauge a rabid Cubs fan in his 50's to get a better feel on the differences between the two.
Alcantara has a homer and a walk in his 1st 2 PA today. Also has his 34th error. Now, I know Castro had a high amount in Daytona, but this is eye opening isn't it? No matter how poor the field may be, for a guy expected to be able to stick anyway, right? At any rate, thrilled with his bat.
Red Sox are over luxury tax threshold and want a team to send money over and they'll send better prospects, according to Rosenthal. Good lord, pull the trigger boys, we can't possibly be set up better than this for a trade.
For some reason, the corresponding move is Antigua to Peoria. I'm guessing it's to stretch him out or he's being punished for something, because his performance doesn't dictate it at all.
I don't know what the hell to think. It's only been 10 games, but damn. He looks really GOOD. I know things can change in a hurry, but right now, it's not very hard to picture him as a year in, year out MVP candidate.
Szczur hit 10 homers last year. I think that the concentration on discipline probably has quite a bit to do with his lack of homers. His extra base hits, as a total, are in line with last year.
I'm not having any luck, maybe if you guys jump in and ask, we'll eventually get an answer. I'm asking guys around what area would Paniagua been drafted, if eligible, this past draft. Figure it'd give us some insight into what type of talent he is.
Either the Rays gave David Rodriguez the lowest bonus out of the top 20, by far(350k or under) or they've gone over the spending limits, seeing how they gave the two pitchers 2.55 mill.
Will they please just move Saunders up, so he can start sucking and I can quit thinking about that article proclaiming him to be better at baseball than anyone has ever been at anything.
I love what Vitters is doing, but am disappointed to hear the comments from Law, Callis, and Badler over the last day or two. I'm surprised they don't see much of an upside at this point.
Szczur is cold as [expletive] now. From the : we need to break his legs department" Rubi Silva has found success at stealing tonight, in his mind anyway, going 1-2. Now 7-23 on the year.
