    That's true. But 2 years of a relatively cheap Samardzija would garner quite a bit of interest. Especially considering how weak the FA pitching class is, when most teams are looking for pitching. I'm fine if we extend him or trade him. I could see the Nats, Diamondbacks, Pirates, Red Sox, Rangers, Orioles, Blue Jays, Indians, A's, Mariners, Phillies, and Padres all seeing him as a target.

    Cheap route offseason I'm prepared for: Add Corey Hart and Chris Young to OF, re-sign Scott Baker, add Josh Johnson, and one of O'Flaherty or Boone Logan. Trade Shark to Nats for package including Giolito and Brian Goodwin. Head into season once again with "if everything goes right, then maybe" attitude.

    I can see Tanaka being extremely problematic. A desperate Yankee team, Dodgers involved, Rangers with plenty of success with Darvish being in as well.....I could see us putting a 40ish mill bid out that gets blown away. If someone kills us on Ellsbury though, I don't care one bit.

    Yep. Plus they can't operate at a loss for even one calendar day of the year. This supposedly goes on for 3 more years. Which means for payroll to go up, attendance needs to go up first.

    The Dodgers are scary as it is, their money makes it hard for them to be anything less than really good. But God help MLB if they become a stats oriented franchise.

    That said, I truly think both those guys will put up consistent .850+ OPS's.

    What constitutes Javy being a bust? I'm to the point he's definitely a long time starter, even if its a low BA/OBP type because he's going to hit 25+ homers.

    Thanks man. But UGH. Was hoping for SOMETHING new. Change a few prospect ranking numbers and that sounds like the same letter he could have sent you guys last year.

    By the way, any season ticket holder care to share what Ricketts season ending letter said in it? Any clues whatsoever as to what to expect in the offseason?

    On what planet was the Cliff Lee deal considered clearly bad? Do you just let 32 year old aces walk away? Not a hard thrower, no signs of showing down at the time of the deal.....Was willing to sign for 5 years. And 3 years in, he's put up 16.5 WAR. No way in hell can I fault THAT signing or the logic behind it.

    Almora was 2-5 with a 3 run triple.

    Is the control the chicken or the egg? Eh, the control was better all year, but it really improved after the injury. 13 walks in 131+ innings. No idea if the velo drop was all season or if it was just post injury.

    I know Price lost 2 MPH off his FB this season and had an injury, but isn't it possible the loss in velo just came with him trying to control the ball better? His walk rate dipped from 2.52/9 to 1.30/9.

    For Trout? If I'm the Angels, I do it if they send Miller, Wacha, Rosenthal, Martinez, Taveres, and Adams.

    I want Canseco and Sammy. Bench coach and manager, don't care which is which. Just have that J-5 robot from Short Circuit there to spit out what they need to do at all times. And if they disobey, they get tasered immediately. Fun for all.

    Nah, just a guy that has filled out finally and they probably want to test him to see if he can handle AA. Always considered raw, guess its possible he could find a utility role in the majors at some point.
