    I agree to an extent, but we have Hendricks, CJ, Black, Pineyro, and PJ in the upper levels. I'm only hoping to get 1 out of that entire group. Wood, Shark or one coming from the return, a trade involving Alcantara, Vogelbach, maybe another piece brings one, and one high dollar FA. That's 4-just one needs to come from that group, which may also include the 4th pick.

    That's my point. At this moment, he's not a max player. He may or may not ever be again. If I'm Melo or some other big FA, I'm probably looking at too much risk to come in and count on him.

    That's my guess. If not for Watkins .500ish OPS, I would have went with him. He can't even find playing time at Iowa, I could see him getting taken off the 40 man relatively soon.

    I could see that. Everyone thinks he's super advanced, just doesn't have truly elite stuff. I guess it wouldn't surprise me if he had the highest floor in the draft.

    Easily. Lets not get crazy. Wood is a great bat for a pitcher, but Zambrano was too. Wood needs to do it for quite a while to be AS good as Z.

    I hope we're trying to lock Wood in for 4 years or so. Curious though, (not condoning it) but would he bring back a larger return than Shark? Extra control being the possible reasoning, along with being a lefty. Or is it all about Shark's stuff?

    I'm not sure I see a circumstance popping up that puts KB in the majors this year. They'll delay it until May or whenever it is they gain that extra year of service time.

    Just curious, what would people prefer in a hypothetical Shark deal? A single top 25 pitching prospect, along with a useful bullpen arm or a package of 4 non top 100 pitching prospects that are far away but mirror a Chris Archer type from when we acquired him from Tampa....

    The Marlin here is almost definitely a joke account. The PSD Marlin is LEGIT. He's called many things right before they happened. Even Hayden Simpson-which should silence any doubters honestly. He doesn't post often, but his track record is as good or better than any beat guy we have. ABTY is the one people can question. Especially since he's jumped into football now.

    Touched a bit of an irrational nerve here. No, I remember thinking he was a deer in headlights. It's OK to veer off stats on occasion. It's why Lake is going to have a major league career and guys like Vitters won't.

    As far as Brett goes:I thought that if he'd be able to keep his ML K rate even under 33%, he'd stick on a roster. But I think that ship has sailed too. If either of these guys is still on our 40 man roster at this time next year, I'll be in utter disbelief.

    Vitters hit NOTHING hard when in the majors. [expletive] BABIP. Groundouts that barely reach the dirt and pop ups to the IF dont become hits. He hit pitchers pitches, just as many predicted would happen. What he DID do that was unexpected though, was also K a [expletive] ton. He sucks. Seriously.

    Because its entirely possible, likely in my opinion, that Vitters never does a single positive thing in the majors. I doubt he'll be able to erase the discrepancy between their shitty ML careers already.
