  1. I honestly don't think it's been decided. Do you think it wasn't decided last June when they said there were still discussions to extend Garza? Garza had legit red flags-attitude issues and arm questions. Shark is trending up. He makes sense to keep, in my opinion, even if 2016 is the first year we're expected to contend. I HOPE that last year, with Garza, was just talk and they knew all along he'd be dealt. With Shark, I hope the talk is legit in wanting him back.
  2. I honestly don't think it's been decided.
  3. Did Shark lose focus last year or wear down? His ERA by month last year was 3.35, 2.31, 4.20, 5.28, 5.54, and 5.58. Either way, my guess is if we do decide to trade him, it'll be early on in trade season.
  4. I'll hand it to Arguello on Remillard. He called him a sleeper prior to the season and said the scouts he spoke to liked him defensively and thought the bat had potential as well.
  5. I'm not sure what I'd do. Only because if he keeps this up, I'm unsure of what would be offered and I'm also unsure of his price demands at that point. I'd keep him, if Sanchez/Stroman is the best offer we get and be wants 6/100 with a NTC. OTOH, I'd probably take that package if he wants 6/150. I'm also fine holding on to him all year if there's a legit chance he'd re-sign in the offseason. Which we truly don't know.
  6. I hope we get another chance at spending huge next year. I am worried the draft could start any year though, with teams starting to blow through the caps.
  7. I'd go Ellington here, CB in the 4th and maybe even the 5th as well, to help the odds of coming up with one contributor. Turners a nice fallback though in this situation too and probably represents the slightly larger need on offense. I'm a WR fiend though, so I'd take Ellington.
  8. I can't imagine only two of that group being available at 14.
  9. Jernigan failed his drug test. Screw it, I'd still take him in the 2nd.
  10. No way would I do it if you're drafting late. Sit there all day, only to watch your team trade out of the 1st. No thanks.
  11. Yep, that's the one.
  12. Damn, all are excellent and appropriate. Still don't have the one I was thinking of though.
  13. There is a perfect GIF from Billy Madison that's appropriate right now. Who posts it?
  14. It's heads. Because ducks have heads.....
  15. Yeah, I'm not expecting anything from Fujikawa. That said, the pen is going to be a strength for a long time. Maybe not immediately, as there likely will be some growing pains along the way. But it's impossible not to like what we've seen from Rondon. Grimm has shown quite a bit. Strop is a useful piece. Ramirez has electric stuff. Wesley Wright has looked very good. Rosscup ought to be up full time and will be once we unload Russell. Parker has a shot, hell he was really good last year. Then we have Vizcaino and Rivero that may be the two best arms of all, yet to debut.
  16. It all comes down to whether or not you expect your owner to dip into his own pockets or not. The debt servicing eats in to the profits quite a bit, especially if it is as high as we've heard. It's not Tom or any of the kids here that we need to be focused on, it's Joe. And if they opened up this Ricketts family trust to borrow money from themselves-its a brilliant business move. It just sucks for us. The debt service payments are very likely being pocketed by Joe here. Likely the reason someone with literally zero interest in sports goes out and purchases a team. He's winning in every avenue here. He makes money hand over fist, followed by allowing his kids to pursue their dream, and eventually the family name lives on forever, as the owners that finally capitalized on monster advantages that anyone could have done. It sucks. It's reality, but it's worth putting up with as we evidently aren't going anywhere as fans. Added-This in no way changes my mind that Tom and the other kids are in fact "running" things and doing it poorly so far. But even they are working under Joe's parameters. It's up to them to get the renovations started and the TV deals done. My confidence isn't high on them truly maximizing the TV deal, but they'll get something obviously and at some point the renovation [expletive] gets done too. Not great work though, since it should have happened long ago.
  17. Stroman getting called up....And will be in the pen.
  18. All that's really apparent is they aren't willing to go into their own pockets while paying down the debt load. If in 5 years, they've doubled(or more) their TV contract and are making an extra 30-40 mill just off the renovation. Plus not having the 30-40 mill of debt payments and also having an extra 10K or so per game in attendance, likely at higher prices than currently....It's a monster. None of this is new though, it's pretty much what we're thinking anyway. Unless some just haven't thought it all the way through....
  19. Tseng is 91-94 tonight, flashing a plus curve. One of BP's guys is in attendance and is impressed. Definitely has higher upside than Blackburn, according to him.
  20. Postponed. Lol. [expletive] that place.

    Rizzo

I think it's pretty easy to see why Sveum is gone. Probably moreso because of Starlin, but I think Rizzo's improvement is at least a bit telling as well.
  22. Redskins select CB Bashaud Breland of Clemson.
  23. Remember to keep in mind McLeod is in love with Alex Jackson. Still think it's a real possibility and sneaky will have a rampage. That's ABTY that said that. I'll take a wait and see approach, I guess.
